Reminds me of the helmet designed by Mike Andrew Nash many years ago, but building further into a balanced style with bright color choices and a great deal of innovation.

Even watching this whole video, it is hard to believe how to achieve such a fantastic result. Sci-fi hard surface is one of the most challenging types of modeling to me. Impressive work you showed us.

Whats so hard about it? Just make a lot of useless cuts everywhere, make it look like everything is a vent, here and there some circles, curving shapes that end in a curvy one (or the other way around), adding some mechanical stuff that would be unpracticle in real life and there you go, you have some sci fi shit. To top it off, add electricity or some tubes that are powered. Done. For texture, just make it look like a mixture of plastic and metal. basically something that does not exist but is relatable. Thats the modeling side. For the painting part, just add colors with high contrast (if you want to make it look "spacey", or very saturated colors for a grim look, and most importantly, the paint has to have a lot of scratches and peal of on a lot of placed to give it a used and more realistic look. Also adding numbers here and there (serial numbers, user number, codes etc. everything that has a solider/prison or coding aspect). All those things come with practice and will become second hand if you also learn design. Most 3D artists have experience or knowledge in concept design or at least 2d drawing (design fundamentals, shape language, design principles etc.

Great job! When I design a helmet in 3D, I begin and end with a 6 sided cube. It's much easier and renders super quick! 😅

Brilliant. I believe you should also try playing with different tones for the jaw. The blue seems a bit dominant making it look like 1 piece which its not. Just a thought.

wow nice, good piece. zbrush looks much better on those UI colors. its so sad that zbrush doesnt have a curve stroke brush that you can do this in 1 time without struggling. ---> 1:44:45 you've to try over and over to make it the way you want. and that makes you waste some time. in blender theres this curve stroke mode. and its so useful for cases like this. hope zbrush bring this tool soon. now even substance painter allows you to do bezier curve strokes on the 3d model. its awesome how clean it is in the end.
