Hi! Love your videos. Thank you for all the information. Any advice for shipping internationally? More than half our guests are in Europe and not sure where to start
@DesignbyLaney2 жыл бұрын
Mailing internationally isn’t toooo different than in the US I’ve found - you just might want to take them in stacks by country and get the PO to quote by country (like it’s $x for all the Spain ones, and $x for Italy, etc). There are global stamps but they cover a regular letter so you might need more if you’re over 1oz or anything!

If the envelope is less then an ounce but has a bow does that mean you only need 1 additional $.15 stamp with the forever stamp?
@DesignbyLaney2 жыл бұрын
Yes you’ll still need the nonmachinable surcharge! It’s now $0.30 though !!!

Needed this video, I’m planning my own wedding and it’s a first in a lot of things with the planning but I do have a question. What’s the best way to send the invitations in the mail? In the Blue mailbox or dropping them off at the actual post office?
@DesignbyLaney2 жыл бұрын
Doesn’t really matter either way! They might get better treatment if you hand them off but they still have to go through machines anyway! You should however confirm your postage with someone if you have questions on it !

What’s the best way to estimate how much and what kind of postage I should buy in advance if I haven’t ordered or weighed my full package yet (plan on twine, multiple cardstock, etc)
@DesignbyLaney2 жыл бұрын
Can you ask the person you’re ordering from? If not then generally 2 cards + 2 envelopes is still 1oz range, a third card, envelope liner, or twine might push it over into 2oz! If they’re double thick that might be more as well.

What exactly is the difference between the non-machinable surcharge and hand-canceling? I think I inadvertently thought that those were the same thing but now I'm curious!
@DesignbyLaney3 жыл бұрын
Nonmachinable is what you pay for things that can’t go through a machine. Technically that means they might need to be hand cancelled but they might not be (think Wax seal, bumpy ribbon tie, unusual size, etc.). Hand cancelling is the act of hand cancelling the stamps. Sometimes you have to hand cancel nonmachinables but sometimes you don’t! Or you can choose to hand cancel things even if they’re not nonmachinable (like vintage stamps) if the PO you’re at will let you/still offers that.

@@DesignbyLaney Okay! So does non-machinable mean that it won't go thru any machines?
@DesignbyLaney3 жыл бұрын
@@savannahdoremus7257 it saves one. Maybe more. But definitely not all of them !

So many people say they don’t receive their invitation. What are your recommendations for that?
@DesignbyLaney3 жыл бұрын
The USPS loses an average of 3%! If you’re seeing more than that missing after 2 weeks or so you may have used a font or ink combo that they’re having trouble processing.
