Hi Laney! Thanks for posting this. Although I already had a very rough understand of digitizing and most of my steps follow your instruction, you gave some solid tips that will make my process much easier. I can’t wait to try them out! Thanks for sharing your knowledge - I know you probably learned the hard way and you’re so kind to make things easier on others.

Hey Laney, I've vectorised my calligraphy from Procreate and when it's all vectorised and cleaned up using Image Trace and I'm trying to scale it down (from like 150mm to 45mm), I noticed the strokes just thicken and some parts are just smooshed together (like a little loop which is on a flourish), which isn't a pretty look. It's fine and dandy when it's in the standard black colour and I can scale it down without it looking weird, but if I try to change it to any other colour, the strokes become thicker. I've tried to check 'Scale Strokes & Effects' but that doesn't seem to help. I hope you can help me with this, thank you so much!

Hi! Can you shrink it without a stroke on it? And then add whatever stroke you need after? It may just need a smaller stroke at a smaller size !

@@DesignbyLaney Hey Laney! Thanks so much for replying. I tried to just reduce the stroke size and it made everything so much better, thank you for the help!

I've got a question, my calligraphy when scanned is CRAZY bumpy... I've been using a heavy card stock to write on and then digitize... do you think it's the paper causing it? In real life the calligraphy looks smooth but after digitizing it's incredibly uneven :(

Nikki Hess I’d try a smooth paper - I use Rhodia - and make sure you’re cleaning up in PSD before bringing into AI with the dodge and burn tools. Those should help a little but your paper will be a huge factor !
