Thank you for giving science and new technologies a stand in your podcasts. Being an aspiring researcher it feels good to watch such videos from a yt channel. I would also suggest a podcast on carbon capture and net zero technologies. It's an important topic these days, and we can spread awareness to save the environment then why not? And great work. 👍👍

The reason behind so many offtargets is repetitive sequence in mammalian genomes. Cas proteins requires only 20 to 28 nucleotides (vary according to different crispr system ) to bind the target DNA. These cas proteins can be engineered to reduce the binding to the off sites.

Isn't this a great technology. We would have cures for all type of neuropsychiatric issues in the future which is incredible because right now it's only management of symptoms and the quality of life of such patients are extremely poor. Patients will be able to live their life with dignity that every human being deserves.
