This is inspiring listening to Jerry bc I’ve always wanted to have a clothing line. And bc he started on his own and from a club background also. Meaning when you club, you see the trends first and ppl. rocking the newest clothes and how they wear it. Also, I always felt streetwear needed another higher level than n quality and bring it to the same level with some brands as what you see with designer clothes. Bc when you’ve experienced designer clothes, you start appreciating quality and the details of how the clothes are made and fabrics. Bc I’m older and in my generation in the 90’s, tye 20 something’s wore streetwear but it was more about the streetwear brands they were wearing like Stussy or Nike. And most were made of nylon and cotton and and the basics that was made in different colors. So not saying streetwear need to be more luxury, but it’s a nice change to see streetwear elevated like what they have been doing in Japan since the 90’s.

As a guy appreciating his work, i really do regret that he doesn’t feel welcome in the business he is in. I wished he would have talked more about that subject. Fashion lives from all kind of influences and cultures so it’s hard for me to understand really. The world has all sorts of designers from different origins. So I wonder if an Asian guy or whatever cultural background apart from the industry leaders has the same experiences.
