Hi Monti.. That bouquet is beautiful. ❤ I recently made a bouquet and rested the armature on top of a base of salal and seeded eucalyptus before inserting the blooms. And my little chicken wire armature stayed hidden at the bottom. Now, I will try it with the hydrangea. That was clever! Thanks for sharing your smarts with us.

Why use the wire vs bouquet holder?

With a wired armature, I have much more freedom when designing and can use a lot more stems than I can with a bouquet holder. Also, with a wired armature, it is really just designed like a handheld bouquet in which the stems can be inserted into a vase of water until it is needed for the event. I like that because I feel that my flowers are kept hydrated better this way. With a bouquet holder, you can only put in so many stems and your only water source is a small block of oasis, meaning the flowers may not get to soak up as much water while being stored.
