Designing a PERFECT CASTLE in Becastled!

I spent thousands upgrading my castle walls and towers to house the mighty ballista! Then watched as the enemy failed to invade! Castles are fun!

@@RealCivilEngineerGaming Awesome, I got a reply! I was not aware turtling had other meanings. In the RTS community turtling describes playing defensively to build up your base/army. It's the opposite of rushing where you attack as soon as possible.

Or you can make it go negative so deep that it flips back to positive. It a common glitch in cheap games that involves numerical indicators.

I would love for this game to have modding support. I do have an idea for a mod which adds a variety of troops including muskets, cavalry, and even different kinds of mages that you can recruit in a mage tower. As well as a bit more buildings like a Graveyard and edit some existing stuff. Of course adding more types of enemies as well. Such as Wolf Riders.

this one's on my wishlist. Recently purchased Frozenheim, Northgard and Foundation. This one seems to have slight similarities to Northgard with the expanding on each tile and only putting buildings where certain things are. It's quite fun. Frozenheim I've enjoyed quite a bit but Foundation was an absolute disappointment. I'll definitely be keeping this one on my list, looks decent!

You should try Besiege as well. If you haven't seen it, it's kind of similar to this but with the roles reversed, but it's not a base building game, it's more like a combination of this game, and Angry Birds, or something like that. In it, you design siege weapons and take out different targets with them. It's just your kind of game, I think. Takes a bit of getting used to, but once learned, it's very rewarding.

I picked this game up after watching you try it on stream, I realized that if you have say 2 free workers but queue up 4 soldiers it will take 2 workers from your production of sunstone, food, stone, etc. Took me a bit to figure out why I was constantly having to add workers back onto production.

@@RealCivilEngineerGaming I'm not sure the exact number of days at the moment, but I was also on that big castle on a hill map, my third layer of stone wall was almost complete around the outskirts of the hill. Ballista/catapult towers paired with archers were a necessity to keep them at bay lol.

In my longest run, I'm now at day 66. 50 archers, 20 swordsmen, 15 knights, 15 spearmen. and about 20 fps (at night it's about 10 - 15). lol. Currently my biggest concern is getting enough people to afford more siege weapons (I've placed a tower in every possible location, now I want all towers to be filled with siege weapons. Alternating between trebuchets and ballistas. Already done with most of them, but now need more income.

Constructive comment (get it? cause it's about construction): best build for a castle would be: inner wall with trebuchets, second wall with catapults or arrow thingies, cause the crossbow thingies have less range than trebuchets, and trebuchets can do AOE to help with larger armies
