Thank you and yes research is very important sometimes I spend more time on the research than an actual sketch just because it can be such a good foundation and speed up your whole workflow afterwards!

I know this is kind of basic, but I love the coloured end result, its just so simple, blocking out some shadows, but it's just so effective.

I love the design. It feel very on point with the original trilogy design philosophy. I'd love to see more and especially the interior design. Both the looks and the floor plans. Do you have a name for the ship? And some lore?

This video was really well done. I've decided to look into designing my own ships for a fan story plot for the sequels. In my concept the new republic are the hero faction and the jedi are growing in number. I've come up with rough flats for the frigates and want to refine the design more. I love seeing your process. I'll def check out more of your content. I'm currently working on a StarWars ship challenge submission. You referenced all the same ships I have been using. 😆 Very nice piece. I'd love to see more designs. Star Wars has very eclectic aesthetic range. Also, maybe try a Star Trek Starfleet ship design. 🙂

Happy to see you like my stuff. I grew up with star wars so I'm graduating much more towards that universe.while I watched all of star trek later in my life (and I loved it) I don't care much for the shop designs there,so I don't think that'll happen anytime soon. ^_^

First I am not an artist. I found your video when I Googled "Designing a Star Wars starship". I enjoyed your process. The research. I would love to see something like an evolution of the U-wing. Set either in the Mandolorian timeline or Force Awakens. My design inspiration would be a CH-47 Chinook that 4 people could live in for extended periods of time but also transport 20 people for assaults. I wonder would it be possible to keep the same hanger footprint that the original U-wing has🤔?

@@robertlkiss that would be a big fat no from me. That spacecraft is build from parts. In my mind I'm hoping that the New Republic is starting to build itself back up. At least in the Core region. I wish somebody would fanfic Incom Corporate saying say "Ok we back! Let's get back to work!"

@@robertlkiss I'm so sad to read this news. Shame really it was a good concept. I may self have to design a ship for an up coming Spring Star Wars RPG Campaign. None of the players (including my self) have played the star wars rpg but we have played other rpg systems & we are all star wars fans. The GM works for the Star Wars gaming & dev teams. So we are in for a fun mini Campaign taking place in the Old Republic Era. Any way, I enjoyed your concept art process & learned from it. Thank you for sharing Brother Robert. I plan on making a lite cruiser similar to the chaos space marine ship designs from Warhammer 40K's Battle Fleet Gothic Armada 2. Cheers.
