honestly as someone who went camping my whole life the stationary bed is a great option because you can put storage under it and not make it up everytime . also if you did any of the other options you now have to give up some storage for bedding and pillows etc . it is always nice to have a stationary bed and a dinet that converts into a bed so when moon is older he can use it , or if you have guests.

You have a baby. You dont need the extra hassle of setting up and putting away a bed. It has to be there whenever you need it. The sacrifice of floor space will be worth it. I think you should instead do a lounge/dining combo instead of compromising the bed.

I did this when I had my little girl. Having the stationary bed was perfect for us and she and I spent most of her first year there. We used foldable tables/ table trays for dining and it worked very well. So it comes down to your priorities. Comfort and lounging with Moon versus more structured meal and project time.

For the bed situation, I’m thinking of a stationary bed with the seating area beside it. There could be a piece of wood or something to act as the back on a bench that can fold down onto the bed so that the outer edge of the bed becomes part of the seating area. I’m sure what Kate comes up with will be genius regardless❤️
@DinocoSparrow5 жыл бұрын
I feel like after some hard work with a baby/child in the mix you'll appreciate having a stationary bed ready to go, especially for those mealtimes that quickly turn into "Get this tired baby to bed now!" (My 1 year old can turn cranky quickly!) Plus Moon will probably really enjoy hanging out and rolling around it when he's awake too. You can always make a little step (even a squishy one) up to it for when he's practising climbing.
@lailalaila88285 жыл бұрын
I think the stationary y option is a nice idea and I think it would be most convenient because taking out the bed every night and putting it up every morning seems very annoying
@hayleybgreening67375 жыл бұрын
I would definitely do the full bed in the cove for extra storage and just having it ready after a long day. You could do a pull out bed against the wall like a Murphy bed but when you fold it up it has a ledge which you could have as a dining/work area and then have chairs that you can put away under the bed to go with the booth ledge. Merry Christmas!! Enjoy your first holidays with baby Moon 🌚🥰

Joey is amazing! Takes things out and labels all the parts! I live in a 1992 26’ 5th wheel. Multifunctional furniture and builtins are a must. I might suggest having mattress that can fold from bed to bench seat. One pull can make it flat. Having washable comfy cover that can double as a fitted sheet. A duvet and instant bed. Adjustable height table and you can have both!

So as an experienced camper person I can only recommend the stationary bed. Not only can you use the space under the bed for storage but also a big old bed is so great for a baby. You must not only use it as a bed. It can be a really great play spot for moon. Also inform yourself how camping companies are building the inner furniture. They often have great ideas from experience which you could inspire yourself from. I love camping and wish you the most fun from this projekt! 💕

Stationary bed! For convenience and for comfort. I think for the dining seating area would be cool to see maybe a pull down table from the wall (I saw someone comment a pull down painting- that’s a neat idea and could be a fun DIY!) with a bench & storage underneath that. I LOVE the wallpapers and tones you picked out. The peel and stick flooring will look sooooo cute! As long as it’s easy to clean and sustainable! :) can’t wait to see you start putting it all together!

We have always had a dinette bed with the table, and when my eldest sister had her first baby he was always crawling around the space. He would end up under the table and we couldn’t reach him without moving the table and obviously moving the table risked hitting him in some way. It was always a huge hassle. The stationary bed gives you an easier way to “corral” Moon, and it’s easier to clean, you won’t have to move the table to sweep. Not to mention, a stationary bed has more storage with more storage under your bed, and you won’t have to put more cabinets in the ceiling which gives you more headspace. Looks great so far and I can not wait to see the finished results!! I love possible designs, and I just wanted to give you a safe option for moon and less work for you! 💕💕

My family always traveled in a camper as a kid and honestly we got so tired of having to store pillows and put up the beds every night we either left it down or just slept on the couch the way it was. Stationary bed ALLL the way. Watching tiny home build might give you some great space saving ideas as well!
@vanessabhawansingh25815 жыл бұрын
I woulddo the bed because although it takes up more space, the bed will create comfort. The reason why you guys got this airstream, I believe, is because you want to have a space where you can escape as a family. There will always be room for Moon to play on the grass, and outdoors, whereas the airstream can come as comfort for you all.

@Madein-His-Image5 жыл бұрын
I absolutely love your ideas so far! My feeling is that the most functional and versatile use of the space would be option B, the sectional/banquette seating that converts into a bed. I know it would be a little more of a challenge for you guys to create, and it may take more effort to have to convert it every time you’d like to have the bed out, however having the capability to switch up the function of the space would be really useful and allow for more freedom. You may want to consider having a smaller fold out bed as well, if space allows so that you could more easily set up a spot for Moon to nap or either one of you to stretch out. Considering that only a portion of your time on the Airstream will be dedicated to sleeping, it seems to me that this would be the most efficient layout. Best wishes, lots of love and Merry Christmas to you all!! ♥️🌲💫

A sofa bed in the back that’s always in bed form with a fold out table or platform to make the bed bigger on the other side would be cool (on the open side, a shorter slab would fold out to match the base of the sofa bed making it full size. The table slab would be higher up like a painting table type where it folds down so neither collide or block each other). Plus having a bed option for Moon would be nice to have space to lay and practice rolling instead of sitting up the whole time with just sitting options. Whatever you guys design will look amazing though!

Option A is awsome but go with whatever you think is great and I also love doing what you do I have great style and I want to be just like you when I grow up

Loved this video! I vote stationary bed, I think it will be more convenient and make staying in the airstream a bit more easier lifestyle wise. You could even style it as a large couch/day bed during the day to relax on🤷🏼♀️ Either way it’s going to look amazing! Can’t wait to see more 😊

I like the stationary bed option. You can dine at the bench, which can also be a pull out bed, and you don't have to do the work to pull out the bed if you're really tired. Also it's probably cheaper. But if you choose something else, I'm sure you'll make it work out great!

I’m I the only one who is really excited for the tiny house 😆

No, you are not alone. I've been designing tiny/small houses for fun for decades. Now I get to see Mr. Kate do one... I'M SO HYPED! Part of me wants to share some design idea with them, but part of me wants them to do what they do best and come up with their own unique design.

I would go with the full bed. But definitely put some storage underneath. You could also make a table that flips up for the seating area so you can put it away and save that floor space. Merry Christmas and a lovely New year!!

I would go for the stationary bed! After a long day of adventuring, you'll appreciate the bed . already being set up. Loving this series!!!

*Expectation: Designing (and revealing the design of) the tiny home on wheels* *Reality: Decorating the Christmas Tree* *but who's complaining? They're a beautiful family. 😂* *HAPPY HOLIDAYS, CREATIVE WEIRDOS!*

Yeah, that's right the title has been a bit misleading!😂 They could have named it first design ideas or similar. That they bought and decorated the christmas tree, was a nice suprise so I don't mind they didn't mention it in the videotitle. That way it stays a suprise for other viewers too. 😊 Happy holidays for you, too! 🌲

I think you should do option C. But have the table be removable, then get a large piece of wood that can then go where the table used to be. Then add a large cushion on top. Wala! From a lounge to a bed!

I love how her hair always looks like it is different tone, in different styles but it always looks pretty🥰💁

option C is good.. I liked the table thing bc you guys discuss and analyse projects a lot during the decorating process so you need a movable work area, but if you can add and fit an aside sofa that convert to bed that will be great !

Live full time in a fifth wheel here 🙋🏻♀️ If you’re using it for adventures, you don’t need much floor space. If you’re going to be living in it for a long while you WILL need floor space because living tiny can get claustrophobic lol! Also depending on what climate you’ll be using it in, (if only in the summer time) then you don’t need much floor space because you’ll be outside enjoying the weather. But if I’m the cooler months 😫 it’s definitely nice to have space. Either way I’m sure you’ll come up with something amazing! 😍 i would love to renovate my RV!
