this is why i love mr. kate. they dont try to completely tear down walls. they just make the space functional and stunning. they make it work for the family in mind knowing not everyone has the budget to buy big four bedroom modern and white washed houses. her work ethic is so flexible and she truly understands her customers. thank you, kate and joey!

I just LOVE how a family is helping another family. Like I dont mind when yall decorate KZbinrs rooms and stuff but I just love these budget makeovers and makeovers gifted to people who deserve them, like dont get me wrong KZbinrs deserve them too cuz they put a lot of effort into their content but when u have a platform such as this u have an obligation to help those in tough situations, and many many people forget this. Watching a young family like yours helping other families is such a blessing. Not only that but how u bring people of all walks of life together. For example, I'm a hijabi (I wear a head scarf) and literally hardly any people of such a large following like urs give us any recognition so I was ecstatic when u brought a hijabi girl in for a video. Another example is how u bring men into the designing world as many men feel they cant become and interior designer As this is a very female dominated area. Thanks for doing this to people that deserve it. Love u all x

She's literally working with a sleeping infant on her tummy. And I'm sitting here brainstorming about the fact that this should be the norm in all work spaces and places.
@zach33944 жыл бұрын
what should be the norm? Decorating or working with a sleeping infant? Because if it's the latter, not everyone has the ability to walk out and give the baby to their mom or take time. Noon is a well-behaved baby, but definitely a challenge to work around for them. Babies in the workplace are a distraction and make things hard and awkward on their mothers. (think breastfeeding?)....why am I explaining this? you probably meant the decorating, lol.
@kuturah-elizabethbolton94664 жыл бұрын
@larry wayne I love your comment so much! Where it could be done safely I think it should. It would definitely give parents the best of both worlds. People may not have a grandparent to takeover but imagine it's your job's daycare. I believe that sort of thing would be a great way to invest tax payers money into a system that integrated work and care for children. An incentive given for businesses that participated perhaps. I don't know but I just loved the idea. Have a great day Larry! 😁

While it would be nice to have babies and parents around each other as often as possible there are some downsides (business-wise) to bringing a baby to work. Distractions to the parent and others, illnesses that the baby's not immune to, liability if the baby gets sick or hurt (or worse) and the parents decide to sue. Some businesses allow baby-at-work programs but I can see why others would be wary of it, especially if something happens to the baby.

the trundle bed for the boys was a great idea since there wasn't enough money in the budget to get a bunkbed, especially considering they had a crib before

@@kalievesely3200 it's safe as long as the baby has open airways, which it looks like moon has. It get scary when the parent or whoever is carrying the baby isn't paying attention. When babies are at this age it is best to carry towards you, this is because of all the impressions and this can get very tiring for the baby. It's not recommended to carry frontfacing untid they are 6 months old because it's not ergonomically correct for the babies hips and at this age the babies are more curious to the things around them, but it's not recommended to carry frontfacing for more then 10 minutes at a time. I live in Norway and this is what's recommended here. My baby is 2 years old now but i still carry her in my tula free to grow. As long as the back of the baby has a C shape and the legs have a M shape when the baby falls aslepp in the carryier and like i said the airways are open, everything is safe :)

Just beautiful! I am truly amazed at what you are able to find in your thrift stores. Why pay full price for anything. You both did a fabulous job and I love the mountain mural in the boys room. The photos on wood that were gifted...gorgeous! Furniture in the living room...wow!!! Thank you for another great video. :)

Joey and Kate what an amazing make over you did. Wish that we had such amazing thrift stores in South Africa. It brings a fuzzy feeling to my heart watching you help a young family redo their current home by doing things that the husband can’t get done as he works 6 days a week. Now he has more time to enjoy his boys doing things in the yard. The design ideas of the two beds is just making life so much easier. Like one of your other viewers said you did not breakdown walls but used what was there to better it. Loved the closet finish in the boys room, a board to the closet doors and a lick of paint completes the cupboard which a fresh new look and you bought white paint for other project. It looks amazing.

totally agree, natural lighting would really soften that colour and white in there would have made it shadowy and icky, now its sort of a nice little calm spa cave

I LOVE the living room! I actually said, "Holy expletive!!" when the door opened. Kate, you and Joey are so incredible and talented--and the filming crew is exceptional. Moon is getting so big! I can't wait to see him running around helping Joey with all the builds. Enjoy him as much as you can. Before you know it, he will be a teenager. ; )

@@mistkawaiidivinebeing8981 I understand the idea. It just isn't the shade I would ever put in an adult bedroom. I literally had that same color when I was in elementary school. Personal opinion 🤷♀️

Absolutely loved this and amazed it was just $1,000. Seems like such a humble, hard-working, deserving family. Guy was grinning from ear to ear. The part that most teared me up was the bedroom, really made the most of a tough room. The green and the light feels really special. Great use of asymmetry. One of my fave Mr. Kate episodes.

She is truly the strongest woman ever. It takes so much work to take care of a kid, and she does a hard working job that takes a lot of brain power as well.
