Architecture student going through depression here. Your videos inspire me to keep on going with my studies - by reinforcing the fact that this profession is not just about creating buildings, but about all kinds of interesting activities - ranging from cool hand-made objects, to visual arts, to philosophy, to understanding life in general, even. So when I am feeling low (both emotionally and professionally), I just know not to stop, and to keep searching for my way through the vast expanse that architecture is.

While we're architecture students we're tought to believe that architecture is this deep/untouchable field that has the potential to save the world. A lot of anxiety and frustration comes from that. In reality - it's not that deep. Make things, forms amd spaces that are interesting to you and (hopefully) other people. Some will be shit, others will be good. Have fun/be happy making the good ones, be sad during the shit ones. Maximize fun and minimize notFun. Working hard is a part of it.

It's not just the cool shelf, it's the composition and visual contrast of parametric curves against the straight white wall, the rectangular painting and plants with long branches becoming part of the conversation (as the idea sketch) as they all lead the eye to the natural light. Hats off Sir! Cool Apple too :))

That’s a really cool shelf! It's handy to have such tools for functional creations. I'm not an expert on this but, if the wall is drywall, that screw anchor might not be the correct one. When screwed, drywall anchors become flush with the rear face of the gypsum board. The ones you have used looks like they are for airated concrete or lightweight partition bricks.

Yup, you're right - but those were the ones that I had laying around (since literally all other walls in my apartment are reinforced concrete) and I have been already delayed by 3 weeks by the delivery of the plywood. The shelf is 2.8kg (~6 lbs) so I think it'll be fine, shouldn't slip out.

It would probably be better if you brushed the burned edges off as those can leave marks on the wall and on the objects you put on the shelf.

Did a pass with sandpaper and the a wet cloth until edges didn't leave marks.
