Learning so much from the technical explanations of the design aesthetics stuff on this channel and totally love this pure mechanical analysis as well.

Great to hear! I plan to add a 3d kinematics video tomorrow talking about joints but how to use them without having to model everything...

I just discovered your channel, you have amazing videos,thanks for making them! 2d sketches for kinematics is probably one of the most underrated/ overlook/underused method. It makes everything much practical and simpler

Glad you like them! I wish fusion had "sketch blocks" for this kind of thing but you can still make it work :) I did a few other videos in this area looking at using empty components for figuring out suspension linkage points.

Did not know I could use the driven dimensions like that, Great point to take away from your video. Thanks for posting it.

Interesting video .. I had long ago a simulation with joints between components finding the camber related to the roll. I thank you from your tutorials.

Thanks Mario! I will get there with some tips and tricks when getting into 3d with this stuff. I just released a video with more on this topic looking at roll center and both wheels. Fusion isn't really made for this but we will hack through it ;)

Thanks for making these videos. The playlist is a bit out of order, just makes it a bit confusing when coming to the channel/ playlist for the first time. Thanks for making the videos!

Thanks! How do you mean out of order? I think this series was in response to some questions so it is possible:) Also noticed on your channel you ran the NYST. I never got to ride there when i started racing supermoto, it was a bit far for me but looks like a fun track!

I'm referring to this playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PLBDfGh8A8kXV1-4BREOuzzC_-eDamAYln I think the videos go in order of 2d modeling, then finding roll centers then moving to 3d space. Based on the current order, it looks like video 4 is the first in the series (designing kinematics), then 3 (finding roll centers), then I'm not sure because I haven't watched the others yet :) The videos seem to build upon each other, but not in the playlist order that they currently show. Yeah, I used to run NYST quite a bit. Now I'm mostly doing Nelson Ledges and Pitt Race, but I need to get back up to NYST. NYST has quite a few people running Supermoto, including the track owner. It's a great environment, and worth the trip! It's about 5 hours for me hauling a trailer to get there. What's your go to supermoto track?

@@johnrbnsn I fixed the order, not sure how that happened but thanks! As far as tracks go. VIR is my "local" track, but still a few hours away. awhile back i started in the Ohio Mini league which ran a supermoto class and I came up to circleville. They ran at PIR, beaver run, NYST, but plans changed and I was prepping for a "new series" and building some bikes for something that never happened sadly. My race bike is a ktm450 and ive got it tagged now with a few sets of rims so i can ride MX, offroad and supermoto with it if i want. been a minute since i got to take it to the track though. I was building a vintage bike to run in WERA but again plans changed and things fell through.

Thank you! Will do! I will expand on this topic tomorrow hopefully talking about roll center and actually doing kinematics of the suspension during chassis roll before getting into 3d with it. Stay Tuned!

My pleasure! I will cover more so if there is a specific example please let me know! I have done full suspension with rack/pinion with joints in Fusion before and plan to cover each of those topics to show how to set them up, just need to build the assemblies first....

Excellent video thanks. Is there a way to draw the path of parts that are kinematically constrained? Like if you want to draw the path of a point on a mechanism like a complex linkage.
@LearnEverythingAboutDesign
@LearnEverythingAboutDesign 5 күн бұрын
Sadly there is no way to directly plot that in Fusion. Other programs like Solidworks do have that ability and have some nice kinematics tools if you have the upper license type. I did a video talking about recording/plotting values but its a manual process. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3eugHh_jsl3bck
