Designing trials for aphasia: Do’s and Don’ts

You will learn the key principles and peculiarities of randomised controlled trial design in aphasia rehabilitation research, including the selection of appropriate control conditions and of meaningful outcome measures. After the presentation, the audience will be aware of the do's and don'ts of trial design in aphasia .
Caterina is a senior researcher in aphasia rehabilitation, specialising in the measurement of treatment outcome and in randomized controlled trials to determine the efficacy of behavioural, pharmacological and brain stimulation treatments. She was Deputy-Chair of the Collaboration of Aphasia Trialists and Secretary of the German Aphasia Research Society until 2024.
