I'm actually super glad you guys did the research on header sound tuning (at least the bare true necessities) before starting.... IDK how many times I've seen people build headers thinking they're going to accomplish something "good" sounding, but never took into consideration, overall and individual primary lengths, cylinder merging, firing orders, cylinder primary collection ECT, and end up with something that sounds less than ideal to say the very least lol..... don't forget, header design is probably the most important for sound after the firing order, but, don't forget what you're going to decide to do with the rest of the exhaust.... you can turn something that has the potential of sounding utterly phenomenal into something that doesn't really quickly with a poor choice down the line. Stay away from H pipes if you're running a dual system out the back, run an X, and personally, personally, I'd do equal length LONG TUBE STEPPED headers, (IDK your displacement or where you started, if it was the Triton 6.8 or you custom built a 4.6 mod motor to a 5.8), but I'd say you could get away with 3" collection on either side(but IDK about how many primaries should be collected in pairs per side until finished)potentially 3½ due to how many you're collecting, I'd suggest if you haven't already gotten and used one, to get a header building program on your PC to assist, but I wouldn't run cats, just long pipe off the collectors probably till about a foot away from your X, then after your X, possibly single Vibrant resonators per side, and then more pipe until you place the mufflers (more tailpipe after the muffler usually sounds better than less, unless you're going for deep).... and don't forget metal choice has a drastic tonality difference as well, mild steel, stainless, titanium, inconel ECT (headers can be stainless with the rest of the exhaust in different metal for tone change if necessary), and don't forget, even choice of exhaust tips have a huge place to play... exhaust is literally a black art 😅 Edit: guys, how much power is that V10 putting out? Because 2" primaries on even a 600-700hp V8 are large and you could run 1⅞....2" on a V10 is massive 😅 at personal most, I would've done stepped design, 1¾ to 1⅞'s... I just hope you guys didn't go too big 😬

You guys should look at getting a casting made for the head to sale them
@mchristr9 ай бұрын
I'm thinking that sometime in the future they will pull the heads off and scan them. Just guesstimating but I figure a minimum of $4K for the bare heads, $2K for the cams, $1.5K for the intake, and $2k for the headers. Then you'd have to load the heads, build the shortblock, and figure out the fuel injection. But it would still be worth it.
