Doesn't work. I tried printing 1" to 1" and it won't size properly. I am just trying to print out a 9" object, but it prints out just over 4". Grrrrrr....

Hi, Thank you so much for this video I've found it so helpful but I am having a little trouble getting my documents to scale still. I'm in the uk so we use the Metric system. I am printing on A4 paper but I just can't seem to get the scale accurate. In the Document setup box I'm putting Width 210mm by Height 318mm (A4 paper size). My model is in Metric 1:20... so what do I put in the Print Scale box....? I've tried everything at the moment its 25mm In Drawing, 832mm In Model but this is not to scale when I check it. I just can't figure out what correct metic measurements to put in the Drawing/Model box. Is there any chance you can help me please. Thanks so much. I'm using SketcupPro16 for the Mac. I know I can do this too in Layout but I'm having trouble getting the scale correctly there too.... Thanks so much for your time. Kind regards.

I've been trying to figure out how to do this for months! This was so helpful! Is there also a way to export it and/or save it as a PDF or JPEG so I can submit it to a digital dropbox and keep the scale?
@jillianlare35969 жыл бұрын
+Kayla Kelley When you go to print it, couldn't you just click your PDF printer instead of the actual printer? On Mac, there's a button at the bottom of the print dialog to save to PDF. On PC, I think you select the Adobe PDF printer from the drop down.

hello! What if you have dimensions set up within your plan- when I have them in there and I do this printing it creates the text large and it makes it hard to see/read the whole plan. Is there a way to keep the text of the dimensions smaller for printing purposes? Thanks!
@JillianLareID8 жыл бұрын
+Laine Montgomery I haven't experimented with that before. I'll check it out and maybe do a follow-up video.

+Jillian Lare I think I might have figured it out! In model info you can adjust the size of the dimensions as well as other font and I had to play around a bit, when doing the whole model at 1:10 scale I adjusted it as 8 pts which helped a lot. I still have to mess with it a bit. If you find an easy solution I'm sure we could all benefit from another tutorial! :) thanks!!

Andie Anderson I realized this only works for the Mac version so that may be your issue. Sorry about that.

Design Student Savvy The same scaling options are available in the Windows version from File>Print>Print Size. Your printing method seems to work fine for me in Windows. Much appreciated.

Do you know what numbers I would have to use for UK scale (millimetres)
@Designstudentsavvy1238 жыл бұрын
+Timothy Charles Keeble I think it would depend on what metric scale that you wanted to print at.

Thanks! I teach a lot of students from Asia, and I feel so bad for them trying to understand feet and inches. On the flip side, our students do a couple projects in metric, and I can't get my brain to function that way at all.

Use scenes zoom out and pick parallel projection and then goto layout. Select paper size print. Bingo no fafing about.
