Desiree Daring is a 2018-2020 U.S. Fulbright grantee to Spain. In this interview, she explains why she applied for a Fulbright grant and why she chose Spain. In addition, she talks about the most memorable moment of her program. Then, she explains how she got involved in the collective Fulbright Noir and how important it is to discuss questions of diversity within the Fulbright Program. Finally, she discusses how her life changed as a result of her participation in the program.
This interview was recorded during the Inaugural Fulbright Noir Seminar. From 16 to 18 May 2019, the Fulbright Commission in Brussels facilitated the participation of 21 alumni and current Fulbrighters -- currently based all over the European Union and surrounding region, including Norway, North Macedonia and Kosovo -- in the platform's first-ever meeting!
