This is brilliant!! Thank You Lord Jesus for equipping Your Church with men who love Your Word! To other young men studying the Word, let us make notes on all this man says, and for every page of John Piper that we read, let's read a hundred in the Bible.

One of the many things I love about John Piper is how much he loves God's word! His love for God's word is contagious. Sometimes I love listening to him in the hope of having his love for God's word flow from his lips into my own heart. Like rivers of living waters flowing from him to us by God's grace.

I have a similar experience. John Piper, Paul Washer, and McArther we’re, and still are big influences in my Christain faith. Wasn’t raised in the church and found Christ around 15-16 years old. Those were the guys I learned from, wanting to have what they had I thought much like them and often sought their insight. Found myself not seeking the insight of God, richness of prayer, and the Word of the Lord. Searching for Christ like it’s the only thing you need has to become a priority to find the goodness of Jesus in his word. Maybe I’m ranting, but I just wanted to share this. I was recently asked to give my first sermon at a youth group and was given 3 topics to pick from - joy, peace, and hope. I told the pastor I would pray before picking, peace was not the first thing I sought. I had quotes from pastors, Bible verses already in my mind for the other topics. After praying, Christ told me peace. Which wasn’t a very peaceful answer 😅. I didn’t know much on it, and I didn’t want to go and find a bunch of sermons or commentary on peace. I wanted to find the true peace of God preparing for the sermon. So it’s kinda funny that I watched this video exactly a week before I have to speak. Please be praying for me. I also have a buddy giving a sermon on peace too, wasn’t planned that we are speaking on the same topic. pray for him too.

thanks john piper for your preaching, I'm especially a fan of your references to bible verses so often, I've got my reasons for not being fully christianized, but you're my favourite christian after CS lewis, your steadfast commitment to the bible is only second to CS lewis arguments for faith from atheism in my personal experience, and if I had to pick a proper religion as opposed to my homebrew personal beliefs, I'd pick calvinism thanks to piper , I've got communication from god directly and he tells me he's not fully christian, but nothing short of god could make the synchronicity that's occured happen, so I'm not fully christian BUT, christianity and the different denominations have given me so many things to think about I couldn't come up with on my own, and john piper's preaching is some of the best and short of CS lewis, the most helpful for my journey despite not being fully christianized

I'm curious what has God directly spoken to you and how do you know it's God and not some other being?

@@aidanp4614 well I mean having 14 people (friends, family, and one high school enemy) know the future about my life and the geopolitical world stage 15-20-30 years in advance might have something to do with it

Jesus words give life; not some man’s explanation, or his opinion of a certain verse.

the threes and fours is a Hebrew idiom which means something in the lines of "however continuously, that is how much"... heard that from Tim Mackie's podcast on Exodus 34:6-7 where God says "yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations.", which does not mean he will suddenly stop at the fourth generation, but means that he will continue to punish those who rebel against him in every generation. This is contrasted by his lovingkindness for the thousand who he forgives for their iniquity, transgression and sin. If they turn back to him, they will receive mercy. Hope ya'll enjoyed the video as much as I did. Take care.

The government in America dose not dig wells for us. We dig our own wells. What are you city people thinking. And in citys your taxes give you drinking water not the government. And yes we go to Africa and give medicine andwells. And in America we have missions that help the homeless!

John Piper, When Josh manley claims he is God of the church, he has authority to steal someone's girl friend, he has authority to speak lies, to deceive others, to manipulate others, is it not a flase gospel? Is it not an attack on Gospel? How can you consider him a servant of God?

Piper is a con man
@vipinviswanathan7763 Жыл бұрын
John Piper, Josh Manley believes being a calvinist pastor he has special priviledge to speak lies, to do cruel things. WHat you have to say about that? What makes you think he is not a false prophet? If I say 'yes' to everything you preach, only then I am a born again believer. Do you believe all charismatic believers are false? And do you believe you have the special priviledge to kill charismatic believers? is that your father taught you? Is that God taught you? Is killing, doing cruel things , telling lies following Jesus?

I was saddened to read the response regarding the pastors ego...however, the response that followed saddened my heart more... I think prayer and being in the Word would be a better alternative than personal attacks to ones character.. 🙏✝️
