This hobby can really end up making you develop hyper-consumerist habits (like buying deskmats you won't even use) so one advice I could give to you and anyone reading this is : when you see something you might want, try to wait several days before buying it, that way you'll see if it was just a need of the moment or if you really really need it. Sometimes I want something one day and then after two or three days I'm like "you know what it's not important actually". Also don't hesitate to resell or even give away the stuff you regret getting, you will make people with less money in this expensive hobby very happy ! :-)

​@ricecloud Update! I did have to remove mine and it came off easily with heat. A heat g-n is your best bet. Perhaps two heat g-ns while someone lifts the table top.

Love the music and how satisfying everything is. I have the same problem with the spaghetti. I'm 5'3 and ended up getting a cheap table that goes down to 24" and chair from Costco and it's much more ergonomic than a standard desk height. I also love the way you organized your desk pads!

If you decide you don't like the color and do the desktop over again, a water-based sealant won't change the color as much (or at all, depending on the wood) as the oil did. Goes on the same way as what you did here, but I recommend a foam brush or pad.

Really enjoyed the video. I might have missed it but did you add a support in the middle of the desk? The wood might crack or bow without one. The ikea legs are pretty good and very affordable. And if you use a monitor arm, I recommend securing ur desktop to the alex drawers with L brackets and screws. The weight of monitor arms and the monitor might not be secure enough with double sided tape.

thanks! still rocking it, as mentioned in the video, the lumbar support is not the best when you are tilted back , so i am not sure if the price is justified. i am not an expert when it comes to desk chairs, i can only speak from my personal experience. i still love sitting in this chair, so far there is nothing loosening or squeaking x)
