Ordered mine the day the new updates went live. Im about 2 months in on my wait. The new grip texture sold me, the bull barrel was icing on the cake. I rented one so I already know they are tack drivers.

@seanmtak7573 I did not. The updates didn't exist when I rented it. Nor the grip texture. The grip was slippery so I couldnt buy it. The grip update is what sold me. The bull barrel should help keep the muzzle down with the added weight.

You should have received it by now. How do you feel now that you have been able to run it. And have you tried to conceal carry ?

@KiloXone i ended up selling it. Worked fine, just not for me. The polymer frame on a 2011 makes a difference in felt recoil in my opinion. I would have opted for the commander length to help with less reciprocating mass if i were to do it again. Just a preference thing though.

I just received mine, and boy when I tell you the ENTIRE staff at my FFL lost their collective shit when they saw what it was, and everyone wanted to see it and hold it. Never seen so much hype for someone elses firearm. Now if I could find a GOTDAMN holster for the thing….

Oh hell yeah, I bet. You have so many custom options that people won’t believe how crazy you can make them. To make holster selection easier, toss your favorite light on there and order a Tier 1 Concealed MSP holster. That’s what I use. But I’m willing to bet that in the next year, so many Platypus will be sold, that some holster maker out there will offer variants for square trigger guards and varying dustcover lengths to fit.

I had a g19 I replaced the mag catch to an extended metal one even when my mags got boogers up they seated and held and I had thousands of rounds through it I wasn't easy on it I dont think it'll be a major issue and you should be inspecting your mags regularly anyways so you should catch it before it becomes an issue

For the designs you can create a link and save that link in a doc if u want to keep it. And are you sure you can’t have a threaded bull barrel? On my receipt it says threaded bull

You can, I was reacting to the error that popped up on the site when I selected it, because I thought that’s what it was saying. But it was actually popping up a warning about certain states where a threaded barrel can’t be shipped to. Good info on the link, thanks.

Great informative vid! I've designed a Deadpool version SA 1911 in .45ACP and a Snake-Eyes SA Platypus in 9mm. I wasn't sure how the grey and silver colors or the polished barrel would look in person so your vid helped. I'm also going to go back and tweak some backfill colors. Do you mind saying how much the shipping was, and if you were charged tax?

Thanks for watching, yeah they did a great job on the polishing. The Deadpool theme sounds cool, hope you follow through with it. I can’t remember what the shipping charge was, but it was fair. Probably $20-$30 or so. Tax will depend on your state. I live in one of the shittiest states imaginable, but we don’t have sales tax here, so I didn’t pay any.

That’s a really good point with the mag catch. I’m hoping the design of the mag catch would prevent it from getting damaged compared to the Glock design. These have been around for a little while (at least some people have put thousands of rounds through them). Unless no one’s noticed wear to the magazines either way it’s worth keeping an eye on.

Thanks. Yeah I was trying that and it didn’t come out good. As far as the wait goes. Mine was done a week early, so while it can be a long wait, it’s nice to know that they’re hitting their ETAs and even delivering a little early when they can. And it sure beats 6+ months waiting with the higher end custom names. Definitely worth the wait

lol when I was breaking it in, I definitely considered it. I felt dumb for not realizing what I did when I ordered it. But again, I did know I was putting an optic on it, so luckily the problem is temporary.
