The future is bright for this one. Most kids his age can't decode the secrets of redstone in Minecraft.

My friends and I recently contacted the ISS by ham radio! What a cool experience to say hi to an astronaut

Very impressive, looks like a 3D printed structure, the ceramic antenna looks like a GPS antenna for positional data, and a custom PCB? I recognize a few of the components, the trusty i2c LCD screen and possibly an ESP32 in the corner? Even the work to design that antenna is non-trivial. Well done, truly exceptional work and possibly a product or kit you could produce/share for other interested parties.

Thank you for your comment! Yes, the ceramic antenna sticking up is a gps antenna, and all the circuit boards are custom! Also, there is an ESP32-C6 that runs it and the code is open source! www.github.com/kj7nll/space-ham

My first impression of this in the first 30 seconds was that i was looking at a future department head at NASA. Very smart and very well presented. Also, I would love to build one. Where can i find a kit/ the build files to build one myself?

Probably not quite what you need but I was just wondering if along the way you might have messed with what appears to be a dataport on some cheap digital calipers?
