small sample size but he has better stats thru his first 4 games than matt ryan. Ridder #’s 708 yards, 64% completions, 2td/0int. Ryan #’s 669 yards, 53% completion, 2td/2int. that’s with a 4th string guard and no kyle pitts

He is more accurate than Mariota was and his chemistry with Drake London is way better. Mariota always got the ball to London late or behind him, the difference between the 2 was chalk and cheese. Yes his accuracy is off but I'd take high football IQ and good decision making first as accuracy can be improved more easily. He's a winner and proved it by not tanking the end of the season. Like the choice by Smith.

Ok so my biggest take is his POISE. The man already started playing to the speed of the game and I love it. He looked more like the vet than Mariota, Marcus just runs better. It did make me feel good to see them block well for both QBs so I'm optimistic and super excited about this off-season

He just stands in there. He keeps his eyes down field. Not looking to escape, but find a a better throwing position. The arm strength is good. Idk much else of him. If he is the starter coming out of camp we will know all we need to. Looks like he is being slept on. I think most people r fading all non bijan falcons this year. It’s a mistake. If pitts is healthy, smash. Drake London, draft with confidence. Arrows up for the dirty birds if rider is the starter and looks decent in camp.

Patriots fan here, and I think Desmond Ridder has potential. He’s going to be above average at least. Also, Atlanta has done well with picking their franchise QB’s starting with Michael Vick (minus the dogfighting scandal although at least he was okay with the Eagles) and Matt Ryan. I feel that a new era is beginning in Atlanta with this guy, and I thought he was pretty good in college at Cincinnati.

Idk if he would've been just as good the first 6-7 games. Everyone would've been mad and calling him trash. It usually takes at least a season for a rookie qb to get caught up with nfl speed, rules, and trading nfl defense. I think it's good we sat him most of the season and I think that's why he played better than Marcus when he did enter.

Small sample size but Ridder seems legit. Smart, pass first and mobile player. Pretty high completion percentage at 63.5%, looks to have a rounded skillset plus throw calmly in the pocket. Think he can power the offense and lead the team to the playoffs next season.

I say we get Paris johnson in the 1st, tuli toipilotu in the second, WR in the 3rd. If we can trade back, get a Broderick, Cb, bijan or Nolan smith, with the mid to late teens pick and then get Tuli Toipulotu in the 2nd or 3rd round and a shifty WR with the other pick…depending on where we get Tuli. Biggest difference that I see is Ridder is a better passer. He hit guys when they were open. Mariota threw a lot of balls into traffic or missed guys completely.
