Also Desmond had great Quarterback cadence this game . He also drew Four encroachment penalties all in the 1st half. He really learning how to take command of the line of scrimmage.

First time he really won a game for us, couldn't be happier for him and the team. Hope that builds his confidence and we get some consistency from the young guy. Everyone mentions how young GB's offense is. But ours is as well, so hopefully these route running issues will get better.

Ridder looked very sharp regardless of the weak secondary . The notable changes are how he’s making reads and how comfortable he looks . Oline protection can make or break a QB, at least now he’s give an fair chance .

I think Ridder is one of those guys that does everything good. He has a good arm, a good feel for the game, good athleticism/speed and can make plays. Does he always jump off the tape, no, but I think he’s more talented than any of the mid-tier guys. I think he’s a top tenish QB by end of the season.

Great day from Ridder. Like most NFL QBs, he's much better when the protection is there. Way too much Zone from Houston. The Falcons recievers can't separate vs NFL DBs. They are good at finding the voids vs Zone and Arthur Smith was flooding them. Alot of half field reads with defenders covering grass. Ridder looked much more assertive and confident

Why does Pitts not doing any cuts on his routes for separation? He rounds everything off, I'm hoping it's because he's not 100% from his knee and not because that's just how he runs it. Looks fairly guardable

The thing that will hold Ridder back is being inconsistent. If he can keep improving every week his ceiling is Alex Smith and that's enough to win a SB and a huge W for the Falcons considering he's a 3rd round pick

As a Texans fan, I had little expectations for Ridder based on what I read pregame. I thought despite having a couple DBs out they would pressure him early and make him cough up the ball a couple times. Instead, Ridder showed out, looked super crisp, and the Falcons' OL was stout almost the whole game. Didn't think I'd find myself wanting to keep up with Desmond Ridder, but after that performance and this breakdown video I'm eager to see how he progresses. Fun game for Falcons fans and they've got a solid squad.

On that last play, you see two receivers in the same area yet again. If Pitts hadn't been running slow he would have been right on top of the intended target. Atlanta's offense needs a little update - they keep having multiple receivers in the same area.

Arthur needs to either hire a passing game coordinator or stop exclusively targeting 6'4"+ receivers who can't separate. I think Pitts has a bit of an excuse because he's still clearly not 100% from last year's injury but I've been disappointed with London this year.

@kennethkellett3474 Жыл бұрын
I'm happy you can breakdown the plays after the fact but unfortunately we realize that Arthur Smith is calling the plays. The problem is Smith fails to read the defensive schemes and sets up Ridder for failure. The other problem is forcing Ridder to conform to an absolute stupid play calls that are far over complicated and unmanageable, you have a rookie qb which by all means you should run a similar offense to what Ridder ran in college and transition through the year to your scheme if it wasn't completely unrealistic. Nice analysis but would be nice if you point out the before and after along with the defensive set up already anticipating smith's horrible play calling.
