Interesting thing is that a number of members of the cast are Guyanese as heard in the accents but they supposedly are a Jamaican family?
@Westindiangyal11119 ай бұрын
@@Stonygut1865No it is not a Jamaican family. It is known and has been mentioned many times that they are a Guyanese family. The show is based on Desmond and his wife who are Guyanese, with British children. The main characters are from British Guiana, now guyana. They are west Indians. Back then everyone was identified as west Indians. People from Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad and other west Indians went to Britain as part of the windrush era. Desmond wants to get back to Guyana. That is what the show is about. Porkpie is also from guyana. The main accent is Guyanese, once in a while there are guest that are from Jamaica, Trinidad, Granada and other parts of the west Indies. Everything about the show is Guyanese and if you watch more episodes you will see. We were all considered west Indian at one point because we were all from the British west Indies. Whether you were Guyana, Trinidad, Jamaica all of us shared the same flag which was the British flag until everyone went independent from Britain.

Found another funny Brit-Com on KZbin. Besides "Oliver At Large" and now "Desmond's," I'll have shows I can watch while I'm on vacation next year. 😊

Good one! She also reminds me of Mrs Jefferson but a little less tolerant with Desmond compared to Weezy (Louise) with George.
