You would rather tell a story of more dead people than the "sacrifice-one pawn," this story of unbelievable pain and forgiveness. Yes, that too is a choice. However, the pawns on a chessboard are not human-they have no power over life, and they can't save lives and set such a high standard for these shares. I understand the pain and the need for a different kind of justice, but I rather the sacrifice and the honor we could represent when asked to sacrifice. Vengeance or justice-the historical example of life over more death served both sides. I don't think I am made of that kind of doing, but I have the ability to admire it for the right reason. I am afraid, I didn't know about the mechanisms of Truth and Reconciliation. While magnanimous at one level, I don't think such a procedure would ensure reconciliation and enduring peace. For that, you first needs justice. While capital punishment would have been state sanctioned violence, taking freedom away in the form of a prison sentence would have at least come close to being commensurate with the seriousness of the crimes. Further more, going through the painful process of recording and investing crimes should have been done. Simply granting amnesty does not ensure closure. It is pretending like wounds don't exist. Enshrining human rights and reconstituting organs of the state should have been ensured. The very perpetrator being interviewed is suggesting his former allies are in the police forces. The little that I know about modern South Africa, I don't think that has been achieved.

Jesus Christ called people everywhere to repent, therefore, if you confess with your lips the Lord Jesus and believe with all your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved and inherit the Kingdom of Heaven and eternal life. told other people how good he is, how he saves, heals and liberates and gives eternal life67

Just proves how stupid Christianity is. The notion that you can do as you please because Jesus has paid for your sins is insanity.

It amazed me he cried for his people's liberation, but when the people of Iraq were freed from their tyrant, he labeled their liberators "war criminals".
@abinsurly29103 жыл бұрын
Those "liberators" are directly and indirectly responsible for the deaths of nearly half a million people. And Iraqis were not calling for liberation - especially not by a death-cult nation, a nation of killers and liars. Good try though.

@@abinsurly2910 Abin, just stop. They weren't crying out for liberation because the Muqabarat would have executed them and their entire families. It amazes me how people like you make excuses for the evils of that regime. And no one, Abin, whined like you over the liberation of France. But they were white, weren't they, Abin?

@@glennhubbard5008 And who, besides Hollywood, makes the U.S. the moral center of the globe when the nation's true history is rife with the overthrow of democracies and shocking human rights abuses? You might want to look in a mirror, bro. Look beyond the mythology of humankind's salvation through whiteness and check the facts. You are not the heroes of this world.

@@glennhubbard5008 French Revolution? No, I dont care. Not only was that whole European skirmish a European problem, liberation by the so-called "Greatest Generation" - a generation that continued the long U.S. tradition of spitting in my parents' and grandparents' faces - means less than nothing to me.
