It is surprisingly hard to translate songs to Irish and sound good but there are a few good ones
@michelleflood72252 жыл бұрын
@@winneracc this band does mostly covers of popular English songs such as Adele , u2 they’ve done even done a lovely cover of John legends all of me trust me that one will make you cry 😢. They are a school band from one of the Gaeltachts from what I know .this one was a game changer as it’s got two languages to translate into gaeilge English and Spanish not easy as you say !! But whilst I might not understand the words in Irish ( still learning ) Irish to me is one of the most beautiful languages I’ve had the privilege of learning . Love it I stand behind the proverb - tir ni teanga Tir ni anam ( a land without a language is a land without a soul )

I’m watching this from Australia though here in Sydney . Love gaeilge and get content where I can as I’m still learning gaeilge - ta cupla focal agam . I’m of Irish descent with both parents having ancestry both sides mainly from Tipperary , but also one of my great grandmothers on dads side ( his maternal gran ) her family were from cork and Kildare and mums maternal grandmother ( her maiden name is O’Brien ) her family were from templeport and black lion area of Cavan

It is such a beautiful one too it lends itself brilliantly to music as this is a testament to but also poetry and endearments . Another thing I love is you can’t actually swear in it as the expletives just don’t exist you can curse and insult but that’s an art form in and of itself . Love it

The woke English-speaking morons in the US would disagree with you. I am not one of them. Indeed, I appreciate this culture and language as well.
@HasufelyArod Жыл бұрын
I can't believe I found this. You are totally right. I'm Mexican and I don't even like this song, "Despacito", however my heart smiles at the sight of this many covers. As for your words, many millions in US want you basically dead, figuratively hopefully, for saying that, and they want you so while doing under the flag of political correctness and getting offended in the name of "other culture", when they have anything but.

Well naturallament mon ami that’s where the language of Breton ( Brittany ) is from it’s just in the other Celtic language group of Brythonic languages the others in that one are welsh and Cornish . Irish , Scots Gaelic ( gaidhlig ) and Manx Gaelic are all goidelic languages . And the Celtic empire did take in parts of modern day Germany & Switzerland , and as you rightly say parts of France too !
@michelleflood72252 жыл бұрын
Of course as that’s where the Celtic language of Breton is from ( Brittany area ) that’s in the other Celtic language group to this though Irish is goidelic whereas Breton is Brythonic Celtic language . Parts of Gaul and Brittany were inhabited by Celts back in the Iron Age so this explains it . Archeologists have discovered celtic artificacts in France also parts of Germany as well so celts didn’t just inhabit Britain they were vastly spread out across Europe . What I love about Irish is how it lends itself brilliantly to music and poetry and because of my ancestry ( 75% ) of which is Irish I’m learning it as a way of embracing my roots .
