try a standard 12 gauge wads 2 3/4" and 3"

Get unslit wads from BPI and experiment with the amount and length of slits to get your desired pattern. Easy peasy.

I have the Diablo much shorter barrel don't think it would work but you never know haven't tried it yet have every intention on talking with people that are knowledgeable in black powder shot placement

Cool video just subscribed. I've been looking at getting one of these guns for turkey hunting myself. I hope you don't mind me asking you a couple of questions. 1.At about how many yards away did you shoot that turkey with that blackpower shotgun pistol? 2. How well does that gun pattern at 10 yards or so.

The turkey was close to 20 yards. We didn't walk it off to check. At 10 yards with our load it patterns much tighter. @@InternationalSportsman Loved the video guys. I read your article and saw that you used #5 shot. That is a great shot size for a regular full sized smokeless shotgun that can pattern heavy loads better, but in that 8" black powder pistol with open chokes, and it being only 20 yards, I would have opted for copper plated #7.5 for pattern density. A lot of 410 Turkey hunters have successfully used #7.5 within 25 yards because of the small amount of shot it holds. Give copper plated #7.5 a try next time you are patterning it and you will see a big improvement. At only 20 yards, copper plated 7.5 will still easily penetrate a turkey's head. Best, John

@@JohnB-dr8sk I agree. At the time we did the hunt that was all that we could find. Things were still very had to find on the reloading side so you make do with what you have. I do agree that #7.5 would have been easier and a better choice.
