Many years ago, I believe back in the later sixties, I met Mr. Miller (from Miller and Kranz) at his stereo store on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles.. He had a large grand piano there and I actually played a piece by Debussy called The Snow is Dancing from Children's Corner. I was with my dad then and Mr. Miller went back and brought us each a record from his recording studio as he recorded records there in addition to selling stereo equipment. I was in my teens and he said "Don't ever stop playing..." He was an extremely nice and kind man. He carried many other brands but I recall the M&K speakers being of excellent quality.

Sounds great! I haven't been able to get my Freya+ plus working when plugged into the R8's pre-in. I do have sound if I plug DAC into the R8's pre-in. Any ideas?

Did you consider a streaming product to reduce the amount of boxes, cables, and power supplies? For example an Auralic or Aurender unit?

I also have Schiit Freya Plus preamp connected to Willsenton R8 amp, and they sound wonderful together. Just curious, what are the tubes you have installed on R8? Also I thought M&K are studio monitors, not consumer speakers, and that's the reason why not many people know about the brand.

I'm strongly considering this same setup but curious if you use the preamp in passive or active mode? Trying to decide if there's a specific reason to get the Freya+ over the Freya.

They made a rrange of speakers from monitor to consumer. I am not sure if they are still around or not but they were of superb quality

How does the Freya preamp compare to the Willsenton R8 ? You werent using them at the same time surely ?
