My Daughter and I rode this coaster an entire day, all by ourselves. Over and over and over. We were moving away from Las Vegas, after 20 years living there and spent 2 nights at Wild Bills, just by chance. We had the entire place to ourselves, the pool, the amusement area, the restaurants. It was an ominous feeling. We stopped in there to ride the roller coaster and log flume and when we saw how empty the entire place was, we decided to spend the night and use the pool and have lunch and then dinner. We literally were the only people there. 1 family of 4 and all the workers. That was it. My daughter rode the coaster the entire day. At least 50x. Over and over. Eventually, they just let her stay on and I joined in but after about 15x+/-, I had enough fun and enjoyed watching her. I knew we would never have an experience like this, again. This was June 18, 2017

MrNemis2003 FYI The rides are great! A doctor I used to have worked on the desperado before. He said that they checked the pressure to make sure there were no cracks and that nothing was wrong. If the air pressure on it was lower that it is supposed to be, everyone has to climb the roller coaster stairs and check for cracks.

I was laughing listening to the dude talking about his kidneys being swapped and kidney punches on the snap-turns. I sat in left seat on the first 2 trips, and in the right on my 3rd and final ride. I got the hell beat out of me sitting in the right seat. When I got back to Austin, I was sore for 4 days. At $4 a pop, it was $12 well spent!

It's not too far off. The Gemini at Cedar Point was the first "mine train" that did elements of a traditional coaster. From there Arrow started reworking their mine train design to cross over 200 feet (Magnum XL 200). Pepsi Max and Desperado were the natural next step. You can look at the old mine rides and see upstop skids instead of a bottom wheel. The Gemini Trains have that same skid, but the Magnum has third wheels on the underside to allow for higher speeds and more airtime.

I think the guy in this video screams at the appropriate times because when that coaster gets going it can reach up to NINETY MILES PER HOUR! It feels incredibly fast and it's smart to space out rides with gambling or the arcade there because it'll whip you around pretty good and it can hurt. However you go really high in the air and it's kinda like a Nevada desert version of the Matterhorn ride at Disneyland. In my opinion, it's a really good thrill.

I wasn't sure I wanted to watch this but I decided to try it. Half-way up the initial climb I found myself yelling, "Stop this thing, stop it! I want to get off! I want to get off!" 🆘 I have to say it was great filming, made me seasick and scared to death at the same time. I guess roller-coasters just aren't my thing. 😆 I've only been on one in my life. I think I must have been around 10 or 12. I was so small that every time the coaster would go over a big bump it would lift me up off the seat and I was afraid I was going to be thrown out. 🆘 When I got off I couldn't bend my fingers. I had been holding on so tightly that the muscles had completely frozen up and locked. I was over 2 hours before I could move them again. Well, I swore I'd never do that again, and now, 51 years later, I never have. Never got to ride this. One my way back from Las Vegas we stopped here just to ride this coaster. This was maybe 1996. Myself and a friend were going to ride but I had gained a considerable amount of weight and was 125 lbs heavier back then and the seat belt wouldn’t fit. I was told that if the seat belt wouldn’t fit then I wouldn’t be able to ride. So I had to do the walk of shame. I developed a fear of roller coasters after that.. but more because I was afraid of doing that walk of shame again. I did ride most of the coasters at Six FlagsMagic Mountain after that but I never really felt comfortable like I used to. I took a long hiatus until recently. It now over 130 lbs lighter now I have been making up for most time. I hope this one opens also soon so I can take that ride I wasn’t able to take so many years ago. I don’t are if it’s rough. I have been on several Arrow Dynamic coasters… Viper at Magic Mountian for example so this one I think I can handle.

Well, The Phantom's Revenge at Kennywood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania used to be The Steel Phantom with 4 inversions until late 2000. At the time it opened back in 1991, it broke records as the tallest and fastest coaster in the world plus the first hyper coaster to have inversions, along with Desperado three years later. In 2001, after its extensive renovations by Morgan, it reopened as The Phantom's Revenge with the inversions removed and the first two humongous hills kept, along with some Arrow track parts such as the lift hill and the station/transfer track. It also extended its former speed from 80 to 85 mph!! And Phantom's Revenge was a Arrow Dynamics coaster when it was Steel Phantom.

Arrow opening this a year after B&M introduced Kumba is a bit like how Guns N' Roses tried to keep making records after Nirvana released Nevermind.

Fun story, grew up driving from souther UT to visit family in California alot and we'd always pass this ride and I told my parents I wanted to ride it once I hit the age allowed. I rode this thing at 12 year old after begging my mom to stop and let me ride it and I about died. I got off crying and shaking like a leaf. I grabbed my mother's leg and refused to let go. This ride traumatized me and I struggle to get on any big coasters now days but as an adult it's fun to look back and think I was a baller 12 year old kid who rode what was the tallest coaster still the year she was born in 1993. I got to be that kid and I look back thinking that was cool. Would I go on it again? HARD NOOOOO! 😂

Looks fun, but in my opinion the best ride of 1994 is Nemesis at Alton Towers.

Best ride of '94 was Raptor. Nemesis looks awesome, but it's too small. I've never ridden Nemesis, so if I get to ride it, my opinion of it may change.

I forgot this was a steel coaster.. I remember it being one of the roughest rides I've ever done, was thinking it was a wooden.. I was in pain walking away! Was still fun though.
