It was cute and fierce at the beginning... But at the end, to me her plots were the useless one...

No, Gabrielle matured a lot, for example she didn't want kids at all at the beginning - she ended up with 2, whom she loved dearly. She stayed with Carlos through thick and thin, she helped Angy in season 6.... So no, she really matured over the course of series
