I'm French and I don't understand how the king's guards manage to stay calm with all these tourists who mistake them for tourist attractions. If I ever visit London I would never dare put my hand on a guard's horse or take a photo of myself next to them because they are soldiers and they work. I know that the English don't really like the French but I have a lot of respect for the English army

A shoutout to those wanting a picture but having enough sense and respect to stand a few steps away, have the guard and horse in shot behind them, take their picture then move on or step back and continue to admire the sight from a distance. The people that feel entitled to get close enough to start petting the horse or grab the reins to position the horse’s head into their frame is astonishing. Not only is it hugely disrespectful but if you’re not going to consider your own safety at least think of the guard on top of these magnificent creatures. These aren’t animatronics at a theme park. A spooked horse can be a very frightening thing! Major respect for these guards and the horses. Especially at a time of constant protests marching by.

When new to channel I thought the guards were simply ceremonial for tourists. Watching their faces the eyes are scanning and taking in the surroundings. Unless I'm easily duped they're definitely guarding.

French teenagers do sometimes throw gang signs like that in pictures, i've watched them may times doing those signs. It's really not appropriate, but teenagers are teenagers. Montgomery (the one with a white blaze on his forehead and tall, at the beginning of the video) was his usual very tourist-friendly self🥰🥰, while Ormonde...well, Ormonde was extremely well-behaved😂😂😂...due to his very tight rein! ☺This is the first trooper that i actually see holding him very tightly like that and I'm so glad he did, because Ormonde couldn't reach any tourists to bite them😆 If you notice, he was very irritated he couldn't reach them to bite them, throwing his head up all the time, ears back, plus he tried using his older "shticks", in pretending he's falling asleep and closing his eyes, a trick he used many times to attract tourists near him! 🤣🤣I noticed this trooper has two medals so he must be quite an accomplished one, congrats to him!😊

She is also very experienced with horses, i noticed her many times on problematic horses, she's very calm and precise. But like many of her colleagues, she let Ormonde too free to do what he wanted😆😆😆
