I’ve had the same question about why God would help me with my problems that are so much smaller than trying to stay alive in a war-torn country. I had never thought to apply the concept that “we don’t have all the answers” when this question comes to my mind. I need to still acknowledge that He has answered my prayers in many instances and accept that I may not ever have answers to some questions.

It’s so interesting how our dear brothers and sisters have foundations in things (like leaders or anything else) other than Christ and watch it crumble, as it will. And I think it’s a blessing that it does, because you have to gut it out and build on the Chief Corner stone where He belongs. It’s wonderful that up and down or in and out he tried to keep communication open with God.

I know this isn’t the point of this channel but I wonder if it may be helpful to have some episodes that put forth the primary issues that people leave over and then address them head on. I pray for the day that we become more open and honest about our past and any false traditions or doctrines. Troubling history and doctrine is one thing but it’s the trust issues that come from these things being sanitized that really hurts people. We have some admissions and apologizing to do and this may need to happen before we can truly move on. Most people on here end up staying because they are able shelf their concerns but we can do better.

You are WRONG that “it took us a while to love our gay brothers and sisters” the brethren all the members of the church have loved all their brothers and sisters without stopping to give them a second identifying marker. Just because there are restrictions on behavior does not mean there is absence of love. Stop promoting this false assertion. People are children of God before they are anything else. People are not defined by their temptations or their behavior but behavior have consequences, which cannot be pretended away. Anyone who is worthy can enjoy all the blessings of the gospel. None are restricted. This is a dangerous philosophy. As the mother of a same-sex attracted child I REJECT The labels. Everybody’s all about yelling “don’t judge“ while you’re willing to judge the brethren and other members of the church. Take your own advice. And there WILL be judgment for us all, no avoiding it. Permissiveness in the name of “love” contributes to many not being ready when that final judgment comes. And that judgment just may be against those who led others into thinking nothing was wrong with certain behavior. Lobbying won’t take that reality away.

Could Joseph Smith be the false prophet that Jesus warned about in Matt 7 and 24? He brought a different gospel as warned against in Galatian 1. He proclaimed adultery as being required for celestial exaltation! Sure sounds like a wolf in sheeps clothing.
@Kaydubbbb9 ай бұрын
Kevin, Joseph Smith taught: first faith in Christ, second repentance, 3rd baptism by immersion for remission of sins, and 4th complete the baptismal covenant, or “ promise” by receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost. , and that that covenant is for everyone who is accountable. That is exactly what Peter taught in Acts 2:37-41. How is that the different gospel? Many Christians do not follownPeter’s teaching in Acts 2. Maybe they are believing the “different gospel”. Christ prayed for unity in John 17. How are thousands of Christian denominations in unity and becoming conformed to the image of Christ if they are believing differently and contending against each other? Ephesians 4. Interesting question you asked. You have the resources to find the answer without planting seeds of doubt if you are sincere. Check out the fruits of his life’s work. Best wishes

@@lanakila40 it's not racial so much as an observation of what appears to be implicit bias in the selection of interviewees. Do you not feel that it's a bit peculiar considering the diversity in the church's population? To take it beyond what you term "racial prism", does it not seem peculiar that few to none single parents or single adults with no children appear to be present in this podcast's perspective?
@ahoypolloi10 ай бұрын
@@lanakila40 I would also counter that if you truly care about bringing the entire world to a gospel you believe to be true, then you need to absolutely consider all of it through a "racial prism" because the vast majority of the world's population is not white, not European, and not male. So if you want to fill the earth with it, you should get to work with that
