This game is really good. If you 'win' you just get thrown into a pool of other winning teams and you battle for place on a leaderboard. That end-game ends up being what you are really playing for. There are a TON of optimizations you can make when pathing to save food and dealing with debuffs from starvation at the right times. The talent-tree and class-combo buffs are useful and consequential, but resources are always on the edge. Team positioning and composition matters a lot and is dependent on what you have. Super fun game.
@D00M3R-SK82 жыл бұрын
I heard that mutations were the most important thing in terms of winning. I have only done 2 runs of the game myself, but got pretty far. Also you're actually supposed to starve them I think, so if you keep them fed all of the time you are basically playing wrong and going to fail. I thought that building the right team composition would have won me the game, but if you don't have enough power through mutations you will not win.

Yeah so the best tip I can give for this game is dont waste time on the lvl 1 melee units (swords, shields, gloves etc) after the first floor. You will always end up replacing them cuz they dont give enough stats to survive a fight. OTH the lvl 4 and 5 units are strong in general, to the point you can just take them even without synergy

This is absolutely, positively the exact reason I watch these videos. Splattercat is the best source for finding super awesome games. These days mainstream games journalists don't even like gaming and hate gamers. Just look to the pitiful g4tv reboot for example. What this game really needs is if you lose pawns a notification displaying who you lost with what item they had. the battles are pretty chaotic and the pawns so disposable its easy to lose track. Also a button to make the battles go half speed would be great.

So, I dunno if this feedback matters to you, but I've been watching every day on my lunch break for a few months now. On my weekends I'll dive into the backlog I haven't seen. I super appreciate the spotlight you bring to indie games, even if your narrative style is not my favorite. My main gripe is this: I literally fast forward the first 1/4 of each video, and I can't be the only one. Maybe I'm wrong here, but the explanation of each game feels SO drug out. Most of us are smart. We get what's happening. A quick overview would seem to be more user friendly than a 5 min explanation. Just my two cents. Enjoy the channel, appreciate your work, will continue to watch.

In French "dent" is "teeth". So I've always assumed it was called "trident" for that reason (three-tooth). But I haven't proofcheck it. I guess it could also come from an older Latin root.

Great video as always! Seeing this and you mentioning their prior game reminded me of another game that I THINK I saw on your channel some time back. Been spending the morning fighting with Google but just can’t find the right search terms. Anyone remember this game? You had to manage a factory extracting resources from humans, such as hair and bone. You got presented with candidates who you could choose to hire, allow into the program you were collecting resources for, or just reject to be harvested. I know it was a side view 2D game, but I’m just not having any luck.

Something that always confuses me (for a short while) is percentage based upgrades (as in skills etc. when you level up, I can't remember the term). It's very rarely mentioned whether the % is based on your base stats or whether it stacks on other the other percentage skills you have: E.G. Base health: 100 Old buff/skill/ability: +15% health New buff/skill/ability: +15% health If it stacks, you have 132.25 HP (100×1,15×1,15) If it doesn't, you have 130 HP (100×(1+0,15+0,15)) (written incorrectly, but I have to go to work and I can't remember how to do it properly ATM). If I remember correctly, it's usually stacked, but I've seen games where it's based on base HP (or games where it's mixed E.G. some skills or items are XP on base HP while other cumulate), but's it's usually up to the gamer to find out which system is in use.
