1:06:59 Eric and Shelly using drugs is actually extra insulting when you remember the original bad guys in the Crow graphic novel were drug dealers and Eric in the movie actually helped Sarah's mother with her own drug problem that lead her to be a neglectful mother. And just to make it worse, James O'Barr wrote the Crow to deal with the grief of his fiance being killed by a drunk driver IE someone on drugs. So to make the main characters a couple of drug addicted idiots who are glorifying such a lifestyle is basically the equivalent of spitting in the face of James O'Barr and the Crow itself.

The Crow remake was one of the worst movies for me, both because it's one of the few on this list I saw and because I love the Crow as a franchise and felt genuinely insulted at how little effort they put into it. Beyond not having the dark and poetic feel of the original, they also made Eric, who was a terrifying badass in the original, a whiny, weak, simp in the remake, while Shelly who was a seemingly sweet, friendly and lovely woman you could believe Eric would fight for beyond the grave, made her a blixed out drug addict with a perpetually stoned expression. Seriously, let that Crow die.

In the original, Eric and Shelly were one of the shining examples of good in a dark city. Not just for themselves, but helping everyone around them. And Eric isn't offered some kind of magick deal... all he has left is revenge to take the evil with him. In the remake, they themselves are the darkness, giving everyone around them reasons to exterminate them constantly. Even with powers, they destroy everyone around them. Nothing is better if even one of them lives.

I just have to point out, in the Crow comic, Shelly and Eric live outside the city and one day their car brakes down, this is when the gang descends on them, violating shelly and killing both of them. Neither is shown to be a degenerate and they are just two people in love when tragedy strikes. In the movie, the couple lives in an apartment when, my headcannon is Shelly is the lead on this, their home is broken into because they refuse to move and fight back against the slumlord that owns the building, shelly is violated and both are killed. In both the movie and comic, Eric is brought back to life to exact righteous judgement on the wicked. When God's will is done, Eric goes to heaven to be with his beloved. It also has my favorite quote "Mother is the name for God on the lips and hearts of all children". If i ever watch the remake, I will be to pour my hate into it. They ruined a beautiful story for their baseless materialism. The modern era has taken the beauty of the world God has given us and done everything it can to pervert it.

Where is "Civil War"? A movie where stunning and brave journalists want to interview the president NOT with video but with still photographs? A movie where citizens fight for water while journalists have full service in a hotel? A movie where the US dollar can't buy you anything but the Canadian dollar can?

That’s a good movie.
@misanthropicservitorofmars2116Ай бұрын
You listed those things like they aren’t funny and prompts some even more hilarious inquiries. For example. Think about how it could even be possible that Canadian dollars are more valuable than American dollars considering American dollars are the global petrol currency. A theory being that Justin Trudeau is more like his father Castro in this universe. Having a firm border policy and massively overhauls the economy and society of Canada. Drilling for oil and gas like no one’s business. Social dissidents who go against the regime erased. A bold and beautiful Canada.
@misanthropicservitorofmars2116Ай бұрын
Also it’s clearly all about Trump. It’s a lefty wet dream about Trump taking over and how we’d hecken defeat him. It’s a very good and funny movie. Great visuals of Americans committing war crimes against eachother. Also the secret service being absolute chads in the assault on the White House is great. Couldn’t overcome the strong woman of color though.

Disappointed Despot didn't focus more on the lack of science in Romulus. Do the writers even understand how genetics work? If you clone a Xeno you are going to get a Xeno, no they don't revert to previous life cycle iterations. Would have been an easy fix too, but the writers were too lazy to address the issue. What happened to the space station is confusion plus, somehow the Xeno clone(s) got loose, created a hive, and I guess the Scientists harvested the face huggers? Nice use of vacuum packing the critters, as oppose to understanding how a vacuum works in other places in the movie.

As a Godzilla fan, I must say that this isn't the best Godzilla movie. However, as you mentioned, it's dumb entertaining, personaly i liked the movie but I understand that some people don't enjoy this type of films. (After 2 hours) ps 25:10 I hate when people compare every Godzilla movie to Minus One. I know this movie is good, but comparing a serious film to a monster brawl movie is just pathetic. That's like comparing Pacific Rim with Shin Godzilla and asking which has better fights.

"Stop saying that the movie was fun. Why? Because I didn't have fun watching it. In my objective opinion it was boring. Stop having fun!" Umm...that's subjective. Whether you had fun or not is up to the viewer. I enjoyed the camp and over the top world and characters. If he doesn't like the classic Godzilla movies' stories with their wacky comic book scenarios, and epic monster battles, then that's okay. I draw the line at anyone telling me that it's not okay to enjoy them. Like it's wrong to enjoy them because someone with a stick up their butt thinks they're dumb. They're clearly not aware of the series up to this point. My friend and I throw them on all the time, and we both enjoy the more serious stories like the original Gojira, and the hilarious Godzilla Final Wars. Just like superhero movies, Godzilla movies can be both campy and childish, as well as dark and serious. It depends on the story they're going with. After Minus One came out end of last year, I knew that everyone who reviewed it positively were going to have a major malfunction when Godzilla x Kong released earlier this year. The meltdown was glorious. So many of them wasted their time producing breakdown videos that we didn't watch or pay any mind. Let them shout into the darkness. I can't tell you how many podcasts I listened to back when Godzilla Minus One came out, where the cast all said that Godzilla movies need to be dark and serious like Minus One for the rest of time, and need to retell that story, and only that story, forever. They didn't want any kaiju fights, and they didn't want any goofy aliens or sci fi themes. They got their one movie, and I'm glad they're happy. Maybe throw Gojira in there too. For the rest of us, we'll enjoy both versions of the King of the Monsters. The best Godzilla movie is still Godzilla vs Destroyah. That ending still brings me to tears all these years later.
