We try. Some places see it as the customer's responsibility to have pre-checked stuff like that, but the way we see it there's no way most clients would even know to look into potential problems like insurance/detachable tongue. It's OUR job to make sure they're getting the right one the first time

Hmmmm. We live in southwestern Florida, just south of Tampa. We are looking for a weekend/getaway place to use in a resort/RV park just north of Tampa, in Pasco County. We don't have grandkids and our kids are late 30's so no need for the loft(s) however the upgrades intrigue us and we would like them. With the unit being a Florida based unit, there is NO DOUBT that the 2nd A/C unit, and more preferable would be heat pumps for the 2 weeks of winter, would be a requirement. There's more of them out there than I think folks realize. Much smaller market vs. common trailer/fw's, but plenty still. You don't tend to SEE them as much (ie on the road) since once they're parked they tend to just... stay there Many seasonal campgrounds actually sell the site+trailer as one "property" sort of like a house+land

@JoshtheRVNerd4 жыл бұрын
Factory 2nd air is usually cheaper, though we'll do our best to try to balance that for a client. RV Warranties typically do require the RV to be at a dealership. We offer local mobile RV service, but understand factory warranties do not usually cover the cost of service calls So basically.. it's something you need to budget/consider before the purchase.

Josh we purchased a 2020 Cedar Creek Cottage 40CCRS, made by Forest River. It is similar to the Grand Lodge, but even a step up above it in luxury. We have tent camp, had 2 Jayco pop up campers, and a Jayco Designer 5th wheel, which all of them were nice, but each was a step up. We have a lot on the river and bought this one for our last camper. @JoshtheRVNerd4 жыл бұрын
This is a great question and I'm surprised nobody has ever asked it before! So you know there's never a case where you straight "Void your warranty" -- it's not an "all or nothing" kind of thing. Modifying an RV in one area or another may affect *that area* of the warranty So the answer to your question really depends on what is deemed the source of the defect. We back all our work here for a year, so either way you're covered.

@@ShadowTek777 We have several that are *really* similar to that one you can browse at www.haylettautoandrv.com/inventory/?keyword=30qb Our inventory on those is still currently wiped out, but we have multiple copies of all of those on order!

@@JoshtheRVNerd We have looked at the 30QB just really worried about the weight there. Using a 1/2 ton truck that I dont want to go crazy with overloading.

Question & Comment ... Question: Is an 'on demand water heater' a possible option on either model? Comment: My personal opinion is that any unit capable of two A/C's should actually have two. Regardless whether it will be in a very hot climate or not. One, it will allow the sharing of the workload, especially in extreme heat and .. Two, it will still keep you somewhat comfortable if 'one' decides to quit working.

*WATER HEATER:* No factory on-demand options available, but we can handle that here at the store. Swapping out the Grand Lodge's XL water heater for the On-Demand model might be a bit trickier since it's not set up for something remotely similar currently *A/C SYSTEM:* TY for the feedback. I agree completely

I generally really love your reviews, but this time I was frustrated by the fact that, out of a 24 minute review, you spent the first 10 minutes talking before we even saw then inside of the review. This was meant to be a comparison; not a discussion on the pros and cons of removeable tongues!

I respect what you're saying, but it's also our job to make sure customers are proactively notified of potential pitfalls as well. I sometimes need to trust a viewer to skip about with the trackbar if they are only interested in specific aspects/areas of the RV.
