Silver City was the end of the road back in the early 1920s! Went by boat from there. There was a gold stick that really didn't pan out! The pens were left over from a fox farm operation! It's all privately owned and was going to be restored 50 yrs. ago but that never happened!

My first time there was in 1966 at the age of 10. We were there with an Airstream caravan for a couple of days. Near the shore of Kluane lake was what I assume was an icehouse since there was saw dust piled in it. While there I swam in those frigid waters (something only a kid would do). Went back with wife and kids in 05, great memories. Thanks for sharing with us

The truck is an International Harvester. They made heavy duty trucks under that name until the 70’s until they dropped the Harvester part. They make heavy duty trucks under the “International” name to this day. One of the coolest vehicles they made was the “Scout”. The chicken wire building very likely for egg laying chickens.

I remember this place as a kid, was amazing back then, amazing now to see how much its deteriorated. All the chicken wire and pens you seen were for the fox's as what you were exploring was a Fox Farm back in the 40's and 50's. I also remember something about a murder on the property, apparently the wife shot the husband in self defense, there's apparently a memorial up on the ridge some where i never did see. If you ever stop by Fort St John (Mile 54 on the Alaska Highway) Coffee is always on and the beers are always cold :) Love the videos man. Wish i could do what you are doing. Safe travels buddy!

About a 1963 0r 64 International Harvester. They made Farm equipment, wagons, plows, harrows and mowing machines prior to building trucks. They had a vehicle in the 60s' and 70s' called the "Scout" (About the size of the original Ford Bronco). It had the only 4 cylinder engine ever built incapable of getting 8 mpg. They also built over the road tractors and most famously their farm tractors... I can't get over the quality of your videos, you are the master of KZbin.

Another great one brother. You're good at what you do. Maybe sometime when you're stuck in the moho for a few days due to weather or whatever you can research Silver City (and the Bear Flats Lodge too please) and do a re-release of this video with a history lesson included. Places and things are great to look at, but it's the history lessons that give your videos their third dimension. I spread the word about Destination Adventure, because it's good and I think people would enjoy it.

Hey Dustin, I happen to know a little about that truck. It appears to be an early 60s International Harvester, I'm guessing it's from the loadstar series. Looks to have a 392ci V8, possibly a 345. It has a wrecker on the back, but they turned these things into everything, from ambulances to fire trucks, dump beds to school buses. I happen to own a 1969 loadstar with a dump bed, and can haul 5 yards of gravel, even though it's only registered as a pickup. They are very tough, reliable trucks. I've got a video of my 1969 International Travelette on my channel, but have been meaning to post one featuring my loadstar in action. Just thought I would share what I know. Another great video. I have lived in Alaska my whole life, grown up driving these same roads, but have never seen it portrayed so beautifully. You really have a knack for bringing out the best in a place. Hope you have a pleasant trip home, and come back soon!

From your drone footage of the incredible countryside to the music you use, you have done it again Dustin, this was one epic adventure. Love the "hot tub" in the middle of nowhere. This remind me of my childhood in Hawaii, on the island I am from, we use to go to a cabin on the mountain and use something similar called a furo, essentially a bath. It was always great use after a long horse ride to the cabin. I love your style of narration and that you go to off the beaten path places. When I travel with my family, we do the same. I share your channel out to all my friends and family. Looking forward to your next adventure. Be well and enjoy the journey.

Wow Great Video, I just discovered your channel and subscribed and look forward to more. I would like to add some information to add to your history. About old nails and buildings from the past, round nails have been around since 1850 they were called wire nails originally and were mass produced ,this can help in dating a building but if you find a building with square nails , those nails were made one at a time in a blacksmith shop. I am a retired full time blacksmith so I know how much work would go into just one nail. Also the tin roof you saw were most likely made from old tin containers usually square but round ones also ,then flattened out and laid out flat, talk about early recycling. My wife and I drove through the Yukon in a Jeep and this video brought back many memories , I just wished we could have gone down every dirt road we came across when we saw old log buildings in the trees. Also I enjoyed that you went inside as many of the buildings as you could, this is where you can really glimpse into about the time they were abandoned . Many youtubers miss that, and is frustrating to watch. Keep up the awesome work.
