My very favorite part of thanksgiving is all the yummy ‘smells’ all together....cause the smells mean ‘family and memories’, smiles and crazy stories. My kids are grown, I’m alone now, still working full time as ICU nurse, just bidding my time so I can do and be a nomad, hopefully with a precious tribe like u guys. So just watching both of u make this nummy dinner, is fun. You always make me smile, such sweet and loving spirits emanating from both of u. I love this USA of ours. Your adventures just make me appreciate what we have even more so. Take care. Lauren

@@JN-Cola I will be happy to share recipe with everyone. 6 cups sliced peeled pears 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries 1/2 cup sugar 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves TOPPING: 1 cup all-purpose flour 2/3 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed Combine the first eight ingredients; mix well. Pour into a greased 9-in. square baking pan. For topping, combine flour, brown sugar, oats and salt; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit. Bake at 350° for 50-60 minutes or until pears are tender. Garnish with whipped cream or sour cream. We've always have served with sour cream. One year my mom didn't make it and we were all mad. lol.

Stuffing, but I make it with a vidalia onion, 1 each red, yellow and green pepper, chicken livers, butter, and chicken or turkey broth. The chicken livers, onions, and peppers are cooked with butter and put into a food processor to mince. Then it's stirred into a packaged dressing mix cooked with the broth. It gives it a savoury flavor like it was cooked inside a turkey.

Don't blame you about the snakes....I would be avoiding them at all costs....and the tarantulas I've seen in some of the videos would freak me out as well....God, I want so badly to see that part of the US, I'm going to have to work on these phobias!! I make the best Turkey. I use young antibiotic free, never frozen from a local farm. I stuff the turkey with apple, onion, celery orange quartered, butter and herbs (fresh rosemary, bay leaf, sage, tarragon). I put herb butter under the skin (chopped sage, rosemary, poultry season mixed with butter). The drippings make the best gravy. Jo makes the amish potato rolls LOVE LOVE. I also make a ham shoulder that's been smoked. I bake it with cloves poked in it. I make red eye gravy with the drippings (coffee stirred in the drippings...it's lovely). My cranberry sauce is can of whole cranberries mixed with a whole jar of orange marmelade. Bottom line I love all of Thanksgiving. Food always tastes best when you cook for people you love. I am going to make this casserole of yours.

Being together with my sons and their families is my favorite part of Thanksgiving. They all love to cook, one is a chef and all the men do the clean up while our wives visit in the living room. Fun video. I know you didn't ask this but my favorite "taste" that says Thanksgiving is a bite of stuffing that has lots of sage and poultry seasoning, chopped celery, whole cranberries and pecan pieces in it and a bite of cranberry sauce together is what makes me think Thanksgiving. I also like to be able to have a little bite of each food together so leftovers in a casserole fits the bill for me. I wonder if the people who don't want their individual food touching on their plate eat a casserole? OH and please please please answer a question for me when you get time to measure inside of your oven Length, Width, Height. Thank you! I am downsizing my kitchenware and since I plan to have an oven like you have in my build out I want to be sure that my favorite cast iron griddle, and my pizza stone will fit in that type of oven. THANK YOU!
