Marriott Desert Springs Villas 1 vs. 2 - Which Is Best for YOU!

Jeremy, Enjoyed your video. Great explanations and examples of the differences. DSV 2 does not have access to the JW pool, DSV 1 does have access like you said on M-F. During the prime season Jan-April on most days they check ID when entering the JW pool areas. Also DSV 1 does include free access to the tennis and pickleball facilities at the JW. DSV 2 does not have free access. Also Jasmine court has 4 really nice pickleball courts located there. Both DSV 1 and DSV 2 have access to them. I am an owner at DSV 1 and I know our maintenance fees are higher primarily due to the additional access to the JW. I agree with you about that entrance to the Villas 1. Great for couples who like privacy but not great if you have young kids.

Great video and description of each resort. I am not a owner with Marriott Vacation club but have stayed in about 8 different vacation resorts including both DSV 1 and 2. You really can't go wrong with either resort perfect description of the two.

Another great video. If you have not tried a one bedroom at DSV I, put it on your list. Step-down living room and kinda old world Palm Springs feel. Thanks for the video.

We have not stayed in a 1BR in DSV1 yet. Only had a 2 bedroom at DSV2 and a studio in DSV1. Thanks for the suggestion. We always try to get 1 bedroom or larger unless there is only studios, then we take what we can get. Thanks for watching!

I’m staying in Villa 2. I didnt know there were really 3 options here… I think Villa 2 will work for me! A few questions: -about how long is the shuttle ride to the main hotel/resort? -how is the hot tub at Villa 2? -any other recommendations on must see/do? Never been to the area. Will have 3 full days and 2 about half days (middle of April). Thank you for sharing this info! Makes the differences clear.

The shuttle to the hotel is probably only about a few minutes ride, depending on the number of pickup stops it makes. As for hot tubs, they are fine, small ones at the two small pools and a couple larger ones at the main pool. If you haven't seen my resort tour, check that out as you will get to see the hot tubs. When we were there, we didn't do a whole lot. Just hung out at the resort. But I would recommend a drive through Joshua Tree National Park. Resort Tour Video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4nQg2aFedBrfNU

Great video! I'm using my points to go Easter weekend this year. How do I avoid getting booked at Jasmine Court? I want a 1 bedroom which is only available at 2. Otherwise I'd get a studio at 1. Which do you think is better? Sorry for all of the questions!

The one bedroom will certainly have more room than a studio. Which one is better really determines what you value more. A guaranty of not being in Jasmine Court only comes with the studio at DSV1. DSV1 also comes with daily spa passes at the JW, but that may not be a factor during Easter. I would personally go for the DSV2 one bedroom and request not to be in Jasmine Court. I don't recall a specific children's pool at DSVI. There is a kids pool in the Palmeras Pool at DSVII. I don't recall specific locations of the playgrounds. Doesn't dsv1 have a fireplace in there 1 bedroom villa? Where dsv2 don't even have any fireplaces in their villas?

It is possible that DSV1 does have a fireplace. We only stayed in the studio side at DSV1, so I can't really confirm based on my own experience.
