Destination WA - Wedge Island

Far out in Western Australia lies a beach that is truly unique. It has all the typical beachside attractions - great surf, fishing, kite-surfing, swimming, sand boarding. But what makes it really different are the iconic beach shacks.

It used to take a bit of determination to get there via the track from Lancelin, which was part of the fun. The bitumen road that now passes by Wedge (Indian Ocean Drive) now makes it more accessible to all, but at what cost? more bogans caning it up & down the beach, crowds, litter... it's called progress, but I question it at times.
