isn't it wonderful how David brings to life what some might consider obscure Old Testament scripture with little understanding, to not only tell the profound historical significance of such events but also how they apply today in the life of the believer. Would to God today's believer would read such passages, become well acquainted with them, and see the rich applicable parallels to our own lives.

then think of al the turbulence after David was king, he tried many other paths, until Nathan showed him one, confess that sin, live rightly. So He was showing Solomon in a time of peace, there is only one way son. There are not many paths to the kingdom that please God, just one. All the royalty that comes afterward is to let those around him know, this is one of God's anointed and special ones. Live in the kingship of our Lord, with power, with privilege, in his sacred royalty.

Now consider David's experience to be king - although anointed early and victorious while walking with God, David had no easy path, for Israek like Saul was never at peace during that era, always at war. Today's believer will have many trials, tests and tribulations before they are promoted to a position they can be trusted with what is royal and sacred. In other words, the new believer - does all things become new? Do they do a 180 degree turn from what they were? Would their family members say, there is a difference in Johnnie or Susie? or would it be more like, I went down the aisle once on a Wednesday night, never got baptized, but know I am saved. I really don't live much for God but somehow I know He loves me I usually don't feel bad about doing what I know is not right, but I know God's grace forgives me (as if He could look the other way) if the above person describes you, then you cannot yet be trusted with what is royal and sacred, that is the gift of His precious Son's blood, the sacrifice made for you, was a holy one, a solemn one did you rally "accept" Jesus or just tip the hat you know Him, or do you love Him, trust Him, would do anything He asks of you, and live for Him, in loving and helping others, to also know of this new wonder in your life that turned you around. If that person is you, now God can work to show you the path to the kingdom is by following in the footsteps of the Suffering Servant, the King of all Kings. David was truly a man after God's own heart, in many ways.
