You should always fully upgrade an exotic even if you don't want it because when you dismantle it it will drop 2 exotic shards instead of 1.

Or you could play strikes so you get a chance at purple engrams which is way better. This is something i wouldnt do i barely get that many 3oc each week with 3 chars. This seems to be a lazy way. Only would use this method if i didnt have much time to grind strikes or a new exotic

I actually used Three of Coins on the black garden and first try got an exotic! I was hoping it was an exotic weapon engram because I really badly wanted The Last Word after finding out it's really hard to get Thorn, but instead I got this exotic helmet that gives me evade for free, which is always a 3rd best in my inventory! (The helmet is the same as the dude in the video's helmet)

You have to use a three of coins to have a chance at an exotic. Legendaries are random(although they do have a higher chance of dropping from ultras and majors.) Hope this helps!

SB5 713 to my knowledge no u can't get exotics from cryptarch packages also I think it's a completely random drop as u can get legendarise from him at a low level but can get only blues at a much higher level

The hole wasn't put in on purpose. The real way to open that door is by killing the two major psions on either side of the room, which opens corresponding doors with consoles inside, then activating both consoles at the same time with a friend.
