I love how the Stranger's lecture was Meta as all hell. "Where Guardians abandoned their light at the call of temptation." Which is ABSOLUTELY true. As for months players have been drooling over being able to join the Darkness. The very first thing every single Destiny player wanted to do in this expansion was unlock the Darkness powers. She continues: "In that world...'you' were no exception." Well...this is still true cause the player now has the power of the darkness... Impo....she's trying to be optimistic... But...it looks like the chain of events in other timelines/realities is inevitable. Honestly... If Bungie were to have an event where players had to choose/battle it out... The playerbase would choose Darkness, and The Stranger's timeline/reality would play out once more. I guess the fall to Darkness...is in fact...humanity's..."Destiny" Heh... This was a really good story but it really hurt alot of the lore impo... This expac confirms: - Darkness is 100% confirmed to be stronger than light. (I personally dislike this. Then again, I am a fan of balance/duality. I believe both powers should be equal...) Numerous events during the campaign basically showed Light to be lackluster, weak, and unable to hold a candle to a "sliver" of darkness. Years of the Guardian training, enhancing, empowering, and taming the Light are literally nothing to a drop of Darkness. - The power of Stasis appears to be more powerful than the power of Taken. If we take this expac at face value...and how "unstoppable" these Fallen were. As for the very first time ever was unable to defeat/stop them using the Light. The Guardian literally had no choice but to fight Darkness with Darkness in order to survive. - Darkness apparently gives its power freely. The Hive apparently are giving tithes to the Worm gods for no reason. As apparently it can just be wielded freely. - The Vanguard had an issue with Eris and The Drifter being Darkness aligned/ early darkness aligned, but they are 100% with the player (the most powerful Guardian, the God Slayer, etc) using it and possibly becoming the most powerful agent of darkness ever.

I think darkness is stronger because it is based more on selfishness. Think about it, the darkness in every cutscene appeals the players and other characters desires. It feeds off the selfish desire of the people using it. So when the fallen use it, who want nothing more than restore themselves to there former glory, they will of course seem stronger. So, if gaurdians were to draw more selflessness from the light, I think that they would balance out.

I can understand why its easy to misunderstand that the Darkness is stronger than the Light in this expansion because in game it just wants use to get used to it, but that's not it at all. Elsie encourages us to use Stasis to control it so it doesn't control us like it did in her timeline. Storywise, in the final fight Eramis froze our Ghost, without the Ghost we cannot use the Light. And then took our tiny Pyramid from us, we couldn't use Stasis without it (which is further proven by Eramis thinking she had already won once she took it and froze our Ghost) Stasis was the only thing we could use for the second half of the fight

maurice green darkness powers are definitely stronger than the light, but dark guardians would only make tyrants and warlords while The light creates and improves stable civilization. Similarly while the darkness gives freely, it seems more like a drug dealer tempting you a sample before asking for more and more or an enabler giving to those it wants to it wants to manipulate. While it seems like the light gave the guardians power that was only a last measure. It’s real gift was terraforming the other planets and jumpstarting a technological golden age. Even the guardians were brought back from those who sacrificed themselves for others along with a moral compass in the form of ghosts.

He doesnt have a class definition. The Classes were a creation in relatively recent era of Destiny's universe, and like the Drifter, those reborn in the light have existed for a very very long time. I always saw the Drifter as a combination, as any Guardian from his era would.

But if I'm being totally honest, I can't really see much Titan or Warlock in him other than his gear and being good with science. His personality and whole character just screams Hunter to me, given that he's an exploring, gunslinging outlaw, and thus I always like to think he would of definitely been a Hunter if he was from era of Classes. Definitely my favorite character in Destiny.

I would wholly recommend leveling your light for a moment though... the light level scales quicker then a speed run can provide in loot. Step aside, try to get some extra light before you tackle it all.

It took me about 8 hours to beat it (including an hour or so where I played some crucible to get my light level up. I did nothing on Europa or anything other than that, so it's pretty beefy.
