@@osiristheexile5457 it’s not strange at all for that situation to happen however Gaul was arrogant so to see him have a complete turn over just wouldn’t be his character so it just perplexes me the idea of him turning that leaf and talking to the guardians in a new light. To finally see the side of him that the empress knows is going to be an earth shattering thing, to me at least.

@@thepage7135 Yeah his arrogance and his actions during the Red War were nothing short of Brutal and irredeemable. However he pulled the rug right from under us and showed us the price of our own complacency. In a sick sort of way we needed the brutality of the Red War to snap us into reality. We who’d slain Gods; we who’d thought we were unstoppable, were brought low and had to rise again from the ashes of what was an Age of Triumph into a new era. The lessons we learned from the Red War were hard taught but we’ll never let an incident like that happen again. I have high hopes for next week’s sever mission

This whole season has been making me emotional, from the seasonal quests, voice logs, and lore books. The one consistent thing I've seen throughout this whole season was not one character was alone dealing with their nightmares. Even if they've felt hopeless and fell onto the ground, our guardian, Eris, and many others were right there to help them up once again and push forward. Makes me reflect upon my own "nightmares" haunting me. Soon I shall confront them, but i know i'm not going to go through it alone.

I just finished this and it was my favorite so far. Fighting Ghaul was insane. He was immensely powerful, I was definitely on my toes for this encounter. Super fun mission.

So it's not that I'm saying this was super difficult, I said it was super fun, and the amount of ads kept me dodging a lot, that's what I meant by "on my toes" lol. I appreciate the advice some of you left though, so thank you. Fighting Ghaul was really fun, considering my Hunter hasn't seen him in years lol I really liked how he used solar and arc abilities, I didn't expect that at all. All in all it was my favorite quest so far this season, I love fighting along side Cabal, I spent all of D1 and D2 killing them so its a fun change of pace. Anyway, hope this helps clear up my op.

I don't know sever missions you guys are playing, but ghaul dies in like 3 seconds for me. Sure I remember him from the red war, but I just remember that he was easy there too. His light kinda pales to the oh shit moments that lucent hive have. Maybe that's just legendary witch queen skewing my perception of the Red War tho

The pyramid was never "dead" it was sorta left behind after the first collapse and when the witness was sent away. It then became a beacon during the events of shadowkeep and now calus basically wants to do what we did in beyond light and witch queen. Commune with the pyramid and obtain its power to aid the witness and act as a disciple to the darkness

It surprises me that Toland does not have a huge part in this season, I remember on Destiny 1 that the Bad Ju Ju was a Pulse Rifle from Tolands quests, in Destiny 2 Calus used the Bad Ju Ju (I don't know how Calus got the Bad Ju Ju) to lure Toland into the Leviathan so Toland may decipher the runes and witchcraft on the Crown of Sorrow. Toland is a huge character on the Hive Lore, he got mad when we defeated Oryx because he thought that we are going to take the place of the Taken King and accomplish the Sword Logic, he was basically part of Eris Morn fireteam.

BTW, The Bad JuJu in D2 was a quest in the Leviathan long time ago, a place with treasures from Calus where we can place our accomplishments, I wonder what happened with Toland.

If there is a seasonal event at the end I hope it is the lunar pyramid moving to our earth to attack the traveler so that this gives us an idea what lightfall will be like. Personally I think the traveler can take on 10 pyramids at once but all the pyramids are gathered together the traveler has no chance at least without the guardians, Awoken, Elicksni, cabal and potentially savathun and hive.

I still have the theory that Claus doesn’t have a body, a body in his image is made and that’s the one (of many) we fought in the first raid. The leviathan is a prison just for him, I feel like they stuck his brain in a jar and plugged that into the ship, the purple goo/jelly could be fuel/sustenance for him. Hence why we’ve never seen him, and we got teleported to his mindscape, and why he’s trying to mind meld/merge with the pyramid.

Caiatl may be doubting herself as a leader, but she already proved to me she is the best one for the Cabal. Calus gave in to greed and focused on opulence and the arts, this left the borders of the Cabal weakened, left them sloppy when an enemy appeared for war. Ghaul fixed this problem, but by focusing their society entirely on war, he became a monster, he turned his people into nothing more then canon fodder for a never ending conflict.. A society who focuses only on war will exhaust itself fighting everything in their path. It is unsustainable. Caiatl on the other hand saw the mistakes of Ghaul and Calus, she fled her homeworld with her Imperial legion and the civilians she could save, she honors tradition enough to set up the Challenge of Proving. When she loses it she agrees to a ceasefire, but later this becomes an alliance as she sees how we handle things. Her strength comes from knowing when to fight, and when to try for peace. If she followed in Ghaul's footsteps in war she'd have been eventually killed by us like he was. A strong society embraces culture and peace, but also keeps a strong military in case war finds them, Caiatl would have been fighting a doomed war against us, but with this alliance has people with not only the power, but ingenuity and courage to stand against the coming end, and work together to find a way to survive together.

I get the Nightmares being used as an important story device but Guardians and Cabal both know they’re just shades. That they are not real. Everyone knows what they are and have known for ages. So why does everyone keep having huge and torturous conversations with them? Is the madness of the haunting so powerful that it can work even though its victims know full-well that they’re false? Is everyone so undisciplined that they succumb anyway? This story point and the fact that Uldren was being mind-controlled by a supernatural force when he shot Cayde and so was innocent and in need of rehab when we shot him to death are 2 story points that really bake my biscuit!🤓 Uldren and his Sister (especially his slave-owning Sister) have always been a couple of decadent creeps but Uldren was not guilty of murdering Cayde, it was the supernatural mind-control giant meatball alien Ahamkara 100% so why would anyone still hold Uldren responsible and why are 1000 year old, disciplined warriors allowing themselves to experience real torture from known illusions?? Don’t make no sense!!

Calus robot clones were just an entertainment for Calus, he mentioned that he created that to full our pockets of lavish treasures and for his own pleasure, it was his own coliseum. That is indeed how Calus looks, but on the new Dungeon he mentioned that he has become more old and his body got tired with time, therefore the Witness gave him the possibility to wear a new body, a body that suits the objective of the Witness which is the Final Shape. So we will probably see the form of Calus given by the Witness. The reason of Calus to exists is because the Witness promised him that he will presence the entire extermination of all in the Final Shape, just that, not to be a new kind of worshiped king among everything (That is just Calus narcissism speaking for himself, off course The Witness won't let anyone to take his task and role).

Cayde is dead, so we won't have his nightmare. Unless you mean Ikora's nightmare, then no. In the Trespasser lore, Ikora can't handle her nightmare, so Eris tells her that she should leave. Ikora agrees to this and doesn't return to the Leviathan.
