Man, i only got emotional 4 times during destiny 1- after my first raid completion with my pals (king's fall) 2- when i was able to set foot once again in the cosmodrome (so many hours of D1 spent there with friends that are no longer here) 3-when we did 390 King's fall in memory of our friend(we met through LFG) 4- and this, it made remember all the good times with my old pals,our races along the cosmodrome, our crucible adventures and when we got zeris to the lighthouse for the first time, she was so happy. The first time I got this to play in orbit, it totally caught me off guard. I didn't realize it had been added to the playlist for orbit, and I just... Stopped. It was 2-3 AM, and I just stared. And I couldn't help but cry. To think of the Guardians from years past. Those I helped Sherpa through Crota's End, a dear friend who got Gjally on his first VoG clear, Guardians who left the game after the Leviathan raid, saying Destiny was dead, and my best friend, who took his own life. I weeped for them, only because I never knew I needed to grieve for my past, to help brighten my future. Thank you for reading, Guardians.

To the team of talented and inspirational artists that composed this song, thank you for this piece of art that you brought to this world. To those that created this raid and the story behind it, bravo.. I was left in awe on day 1 when I went into this encounter and it still leaves me with goosebumps when I hear Clovis's dialogue. This song holds a lot of power over me right now. Currently it is a big reminder of fresh pain. Back at the end of March I went on a trip to Norway to see my partner at the time. That was the best trip I had ever taken. My life finally felt like it was going to gain momentum to move forward in a positive light. I had clarity for the first time in my life. Once I got back I had energy and momentum to move forward. This song reminded me of that trip and my extreme will to get back to Norway someday. However, a week goes by and one thing after another hit me. Family problems, constant fighting between my partner and I, and sudden mental health deterioration unlike anything I had ever felt before. Things at home escalated to the point where I had to flee my home, and now I'm on the other side of the continent staying with friends I had met through Destiny. There were some additional complications with the original plan to stay with a different friend in Canada, but I was turned away at the border which scared me shitless. Things had already been incredibly unstable between my partner and I, but I was determined to do what I could to make things work. Then one of our last times we had a conversation about us, they told me things that I couldn't get over. (I bear zero hard feelings or ill intent towards them, but for now there is a massive amount of hurt). Eventually I confronted them about how what they had said caused me to keep waking up angry or frustrated. That was the conversation where we decided to split. No more fighting or making compromises we couldn't do. I'm not going back to Norway, which is a very bitter pill to swallow. I'm not going to go back home to California, which isn't the hardest thing to accept but still hurts. I'm not going to be able to feel the same peace with this song again. It's not all bad. Now this song inspires a sort of will to move forward, no matter how close to the brink I've been brought this past month. It is by no means a happy feeling, but either forward movement to spite everything or stopping in spite of myself. I don't think there was a point to any of this, more just to shout into the void. Vanity always has been a character flaw of mine after all. Sorry to anyone that took the time to read this, but thank you.

Eyes up guardian, you still have fight left in you. Even in the darkest movement we push thru, that’s what makes us guardians. “Not enough, Guardian. You can do better. Fight again.” -Shaxx “The final stand is wherever I plant my feet. Not one step more.”- Saint-14 “Your light proves your strength, Titan” - Lord Saladin.

I know it won't mean a lot from a stranger, but I hope over the past 7 months (when you posted this) that things have gotten better for you. Life really sucks sometimes, but you will get there. Might take years, decades, but some day, you will be able to say it was worth it. It doesn't matter how small your accomplishments may be. It doesn't matter how long it took you. It doesn't matter who was there to see it or how difficult certain people may have made it, intentionally or otherwise. As long as you find value, however small, none of that matters. Farewell, guardian. Go show the world what you can do.

People criticize Bungie day in and day out about every single decision they make in the game (not saying whether they're right or wrong because... well, they're both) but you absolutely cannot deny that they know how to do two things: Music and Visuals. This raid is an amazing example of both combined. From the heart-pumping music when you see "Extinction Protocol: Active" to the nostalgiac music after escaping through the air-tight space station to the increasingly chaotic things you see happening at the window behind Taniks, the Reborn. It's things like that which make me want to be a guardian until the final hours of the lives of the Destiny servers. (I would typically mention scale, but other raids show off scale much better, whereas you're stuck inside for 3 out of 4 encounters.)

@@lunokhod3937 I agree with the FOMO, but in terms of sunsetting, a ton of FPS games do the exact thing. The difference here is that, since it was just released, a ton of stuff was sunset. But in future seasons a lot less will be sunset.

@@trickytreyperfected1482 I see what you mean but I just don't see the point in chasing cool weapons and armour if they are just sunset next year. And even then you will hardly get to use the stuff you want cos the champion mods will be in a weapon or subclass you don't like.
@trickytreyperfected1482
@trickytreyperfected1482 4 жыл бұрын
@@lunokhod3937 chasing cool weapons allows you to use them for that year until they're sunset. And even sunset gear is usable in the majority of the game. Just not Europa, Iron Banner, Trials, and Strikes. They're usable in Gambit, dungeons, crucible, and non-new raids. It's basically to keep the loot pool fresh and it will probably feel a lot better designed after this season, once more weapons are introduced and it's more of a steady in-flow and out-flow. Yeah, it sucks not being able to use your old weapons, but I've just learned to get over it fast. In all honesty, the sunsetting probably means that they're intending on continuing to release new content for quite a while (I hope).
@lunokhod3937
@lunokhod3937 4 жыл бұрын
@@trickytreyperfected1482 I just don't understand why they must take away content. When they added new guns in previous expansions, people were still excited for them and chased after them, they didnt need to have their old gear ripped from their hands. And the sun setting of armour is just ridiculous, since armour perks aren't even randomly rolled anymore. Even worse is the fact that they are re-adding old guns yet you can't update the originals to the new light level. The whole sunestting thing was caused because everyone was sick of mountaintop and recluse being only thing sweats used. So in response, bungie just nuked all of our guns. They could have just fixed or sunsetted the problematic weapons. I also can't agree at all with how they have literally removed content that we paid for aswell. Sure, hardly anyone played it, but I still paid for it. Just feels like bungie has no respect for their players time and money, if they are willing to make all of our time grinding god rolls irrelevant. If bungie won't respect my time, I won't give them it. Sorry for the ramble lol.

Yesterday.. 24th of August… I did my first DSC. Used to play D1 like crazy.. D2 as well but my fireteam fell apart and my own light was occupied as well. But yesterday, with the new fireteam I found and who taught me this read, actually told me to turn of my headset. Put the speakers up of the TV and just listen to the sound as you walked out. Cant describe how this feels, it a magical moment and I am so grateful for them to point this out to me. This music is the pinnacle of Destiny, it describes everything you have experienced so far. The joy, the sadness, the magic of the game. The friendships build during the period we played the game. It is mesmerizing. Thank you to my fellow Guardians to point this out to me.

This song is helping me with my depression. This song is like telling me a message that life is hard but you just gotta fight through all the struggles, you can't never give up yet, someday things will get better soon. I felt like ending it cause I'm tired of dealing with everything, it feels like I'm alone and no one cares about me. Just a punching bag to joke around. Also the one I love doesn't to seem to give a fuck about me anymore. I feel a destroyed person, a bunch of puzzles not attached to another. I'm also dealing with stuff that is personal, but even after everything is shit, I still gotta fight through the pain cause everything will get better soon, I still have a lot to live for so I cant give up yet. Thanks for reading my vent, please take care of yourself both mentally and physically. Have a good day/night. (Edit) it's been like a month or so since I wrote this comment so a little updatee. Everything is alright now so I guess I was overreacting at the time I wrote this comment but the girl I mentioned, we're not friends anymore cause I found out shes actually a piece of shit so I feel a little bit better blocking her and her friends that might bother me. Still kinda recovering from everything but I feel better than before 👍

This title just hits so hard with nostalgia. I am a new light, I only started playing since week 3 of Episode: Echoes, but I've been playing a lot since then. I have found a nice Clan that led me through this raid and just before we went outside the leader told the group to be quiet, so I could have that beautiful moment. I was actually just in awe at how beautiful this is and started crying right there in the middle of a raid in a Game that's about shooting and exploding stuff.

I am probably the only one here that still doesn’t really understand many things/doesn’t know that much of the lore in Destiny 2 and hasn’t played destiny 1 as well. Though I don’t have that many play hours (around 300 on steam now) and been only playing for almost 4 years now with many pauses between, deep stone crypt is my favourite Raid. I always get so emotional when we go out in space and this lullaby starts playing. Even though I don’t know that much as other players do nor made many memories with friends as others did, I still feel very nostalgic and have many emotions connected to Destiny. I hear this lullaby almost every night to sleep and I do that since it came out. Today Witch Queen released and I love it so far but Beyond Light will always have a special place in my heart. I feel like thats where my journey in Destiny really started but there is so much more I have to learn about this game. I still think it’s very interesting how a game I don’t play continually has that big of an impact on me just because of the music and the visuals. Back then when i bought Destiny 2 the main reason was because I loved the graphic and visuals and got lost in it. A beautiful game with many things to offer that I didn’t worship that much until Beyond Light.

Yes a game has brought so many individuals together from all walks of life working together making friends and memories and it's still strong and I love that and it's sad to think that one day the light will truly fade away when the last server ends and the last player signs out I think it's going to be amazing to look back on all these comments and emotions over a once amazing piece of space history that we all enjoyed right in our front rooms bed rooms and game rooms....

Look at how far you have come. From the light, defending humanity, pushing the hive's dark forces back. If you go back to destiny 1, it is still in it's "Moments of triumph" days. Everytime you log back in, you feel that golden flavor in the air, and the atmosphere is calm, like a beautiful sunset over the horizon. The nostalgia takes you back, from being resurrected, to being a god killer, becoming legend. After all settles down, you roam the city, listening to the children sing, and the people talk about how the guardians have finally brought peace to the city once again. For a moment, you feel "at home". You feel safe, accomplished, appreciated. You can finally enjoy life with peace, not having to worry about how your going to die again just to get resurrected. You look at all the guardians in the tower as you look over at the last city, and you embrace the moment. You reflect. Then you remember the red war, how we almost lost everything. We were at our weakest, but we were also at our strongest, because everyone came together.The Traveler defeated Dominus Ghaul, we were relieved, and we thought we were at peace again. the streets were silent for awhile, but we still had our innocence, and we listened to the people and the children once again, as they sung in happiness. During the red war, so many memories were made, and after the red war, so many were cherished, still to this day. After it all ended, we saw a cutscene of the light going throughout the system. We saw this and thought that we had finally won for good, only to find out that mysterious ships were in the abyss of many different solar systems.when the light hit these ships, it stopped, and the ships started to come on, as if the light powered them, or... *awakened* them. We got an unsettling feeling, but we forgot about that feeling eventually, and went back to living like we wanted, defending humanity. After awhile, an unexpected turn of events happened, which resulted in Cayde's death. We all loved him, it would be wrong not to. This is the first time we have ever felt true anger, mixing our emotions, slowly eating away our innocence, craving revenge on the awoken prince, Uldren Sov. We then encountered scorn, a strange type of fallen we knew nothing about. We killed a lot of things, and we were living at our lowest. The atmosphere grew dim, sad, and empty, like a mini dark age. We eventually got our revenge, but Uldren Sov was not the cause of all the chaos. We found a new location called the dreaming city. It was the most beautiful thing we have ever seen, and it was so mythical. However, we were there to find out that riven, a taken Ahamkara, was still there. From the stories we have heard, all we knew was Ahamkara were wish granting dragons, but they were tricksters, misleaders, untrustworthy *liars* . We defeated the Ahamkara named The Riven of a thousand voices, and petra thanked us, as this was no easy task. After this, we see another cutscene, and it stunned us all. Prince Uldren got resurrected by a ghost. We were all confused, and angry, but we eventually let it go...almost. We continued to live our lives, and mourn the death of Cayde-6, to this day. We miss you Cayde-6, you will not be forgotten. (Rest will be continued soon. For now, enjoy the music and relax, guardians. We all have an uncertain future ahead of us.)

those first few notes always give me chills, then evoke a bittersweet nostalgia. It makes me remember my old fireteam, just me and two buddies. We each got our first exotics at the same time in Prison of Elders, we had such a blast. I had a falling out and don't talk to one anymore, the other I haven't seen or spoken to in ages by coincidence, but that night was the last time I can remember not being able to sleep out of excitement, whether that be to play with my friends more or to try out my new Red Death. Good times. Conner, if you're reading this, in some uncertain future, I hope you're doing well, and Jamie, see you around.

Last year, me and my best friend had a falling out, and he ended up removing and blocking me on just about everything. Probably one of the hardest things I have had to go through as a young adult, and with him being the one to get me into this game which has made a big impact on me, it hurts all the more to hear this song. I stopped playing the game because it just wasn't the same without him, and only recently came back this month. Learned both the new raids, and after Kings Fall being so hyped up by him (He was an OG D1 player, I was not.) it was a very bittersweet feeling killing Oryx without him being by my side.

I'm sorry to hear that and it's wonderful that you are able to learn and enjoy the raids by yourself now as well Being a leader I have to manage hosting teaching runs and weeklies for the clan, which is composed of mostly friends and closely known clan mates. However disagreements break out way too often. Infighting occurs causing certain people to leave leaving others hurt. It hurts watching friendships build over years crumble in just minutes.. no seconds. I learnt it the hard way but sometimes it's better the way it is and goes with the flow, not everyone is compatible with each other and don't see people leaving as a bad sign, sometimes it's good for you too you know. But regardless don't let anyone be the reason for what YOU enjoy, do things that you love which keeps you happy.

Dear Guardian I know you've been on tough roads and I don't just mean in the game. Maybe you walked yours alone, maybe with good friends, maybe with people you called friends but weren't really there for you. If you haven't had people to help you along, then.... I'll be here for you. I can't promise that if you reach out I will be there as fast as a transmat. But I will be there. This game has more to share than just good and bad times Guardian. It has a lesson, a lesson that I doubt most realize. Allow me to share with you my perspective on this lesson. In our minds is us, and accompanying us is a light side and a dark side. These are not good and bad but tools. Yes it is easier to do good with light and bad with darkness but good can be done with darkness and bad can be done with light. I'll explain these tools, Solar: A burning passion used to propel yourself forward Arc: The path of least resistance allowing effectiveness and efficiency. Void: The ability to bring down others who don't deserve what they have. Stasis: Willpower, over yourself and others. Strand: Everything is tied together, watch your actions. I hope someone can make sense of this and it helps them. Good luck out there Guardian. I will see you starside.

I've been apart of the Destiny community since Taken King first dropped, hell, i still have that disk from so long ago, and although i may never get to experience this raid in its fullest, this song still drives me to near breakdowns. I dont often listen to OST's or any of that matter, but this is my only exception, cause it drives so many thoughts into your head when you hear it, as a few comments have stated, this song has brought up some of the greatest memories people have had, and although i cant say what memories it brings up for me, i still distinctly remember one, prepare for a story. It was an average day for me, just got home from school and was playing with my pals, when my mother walks in, she's holding her phone and looking like she's on the verge of breaking down. She hands me the phone and sits on my bed beside me, it was a video call, with my terminally-ill father on the other end, once i realize this, he starts trying to talk with me, but i can barely understand him, my sister was there beside him to see this happen. After a good 10 minutes, i give the phone back to my mom, saying i cant take this, and she hangs up and walks out of my room... A day passes, another average one, then i get home, i go into my room and chill for a bit, then my mom walks in again, telling me that my father passed away in the night...that call was his final sight of me...after hearing this, i just curl up on the bed and cry...i was only 13 at that time...what was i supposed to do? Until we meet again Dad...Sit Lux Caeli In Te Omnes Luceat

Unlike other games, this one in particular holds many features that you can’t really find anywhere else. With the community staying active it’s hard to resist enjoying this game even if it’s for a stupid weapon. This game has taught me one thing, never stop grinding. Work for what you want. I started my journey as a guardian alone. My Destiny veteran friends hadn't known I played the game until a few months before crossplay came out when I had mentioned it and how hyped I was. They came to my aid and took me through so many dungeons, raids, nightfalls and so much more. They've taught me so much and we've made so many memories. Deep Stone Crypt, while not my first raid clear, was my first raid. Everytime I hear this it takes me back to the days when I was just starting out. Finding my first exotic. Falling in love with the Huckleberry and Graviton Lance. And realizing that Destiny is a game to share with others. To Sak and Luis, thank you for all the memories... here's to many more in the future my friends.

This song is just breathtaking… it will creep up on you in orbit and change your entire life… you get a deeper understanding of what exactly this game is all about… but… it isn’t a game anymore… it’s your life, your tears, your blood and sweat… your friends past present and future. It’s your love… I can’t count the number of times I’ve cried over and FOR is “game” I’m not wrong when I say that Destiny is far above being called a game… we’ve learned to love, and make emotional bonds to these people in a “game” when Cayde-6 died, it felt like a piece of my heart was torn away. I can’t count the number of times I’ve cried over and FOR Destiny. I remember my first copy of Destiny from my mentor/coach. I remember the taken king, I remember gliding on the vex milk on Venus. I remember my first visit to the Tower. I will always come back to Destiny because it’s so much more complex than a game… it’s difficult to put into words… it’s a family. The family I never had and always wanted… eyes up Guardians “Just make sure you come back with a good story, ya hear?”

The first time I stepped into the space walk, my breath was taken, and I was enraptured by one single thought. "Look how far we've gone. Cayde would've loved this." And to the dismay of my raid team, I sat my controller down. I muted the voice call. And my guardian took a seat, dangling his metal legs off into the grandest abyss there is. This place wasn't his birth like many of his friends with him, but the beauty of the stars overcomes his mind, and he swears that for just a split second he hears a long, slow whisper. We both sat, staring at the icy hellworld below, and we reflected. Parallel beings, parallel thoughts. We thought of what's brought us here today. We thought of all those we've lost in the journey to get this far. We thought of what awaited us on the other side of our next ordeal. We thought of friends, and enemies, both old and new. Some buried, others broken, most long since forgetting us. And then, I stood. I stretched, I took a sip of my water, and I returned to the raid, my teammates being moments away from just pulling me with the load zones. The mind of me and my guardian went on separate trajectories once more, and life went on. I will still never forget that moment of stillness I experienced when I walked through the orbit of Europa, no matter how far I may go.

The amount of memories on this raid man late at night. I remember doing 12 man DSC and it was my first ever clear, it was snowing outside and I was just so at peace with myself and everything. I’m crying rn, I love destiny and nothing can take that away.

Well, I'm listening to it while revising my exams : I'm suprised how smooth it is ! This awesome lullaby is very smooth and light, it help slepping, studying... brilliant ! Even in game, this song, with the level design (in space !!), when you are in the raid : awesome. If only I could drop some weapons instead of just armors (in 4 runs), it could be perfect xD

this song literally encapsulates what it would feel like to float in space looking down at a world

It's impossible not to have your core shaken when everytime you get in this part. All the laughs, and the funny deaths along the way, with friends... Maybe it will come a day they will be no more... Destiny is still creating precious memories.

Dam, man, I'm legit crying. Knowing our journey is so close to ending. I'm just happy I'll be able to say I was there. I was there from the beginning, and I was there in the end. This song is just wow. There are so many memories. Despite what you think about destiny at its current moment, August 2023. I don't care. I've made memories with a countless number of people. Memories, I'm glad I was able to be a part of for so long.

I had two friends who introduced me to destiny 2 and I loved it, later on one of them left than the other one as well and hearing this makes me remember the fun times I had with them. I haven’t had any friend who play destiny that I know of so those moment are special to me.

It's common knowledge and courtesy that at the most beautiful part of the raid one must take a time of silence to fully take in everything (plus just being in space XD)

There is only one thing more iconic about destiny raid than this song and that’s the intro into the raid that shows all six guardians spawning.

"We guardians.. we sacrifice so much for humanity. We didn't get to choose our fate... the traveler did. We were just passengers honestly. I have made so many freinds along the way, lost far too many along the way as well. None of us asked for this. But we stood up and fought anyway. Id rather die fighting the darkness on the off chance that our loved ones back on earth can sleep easy at night and not have to do what we do. Eyes up guardian, we got work to do."
