We read lore about these amazing ships, we see the remnant of a shattered space station (presumably the ISS) in the skybox of the Moon. Now we’re on a space station, looking out to our sides and seeing another spaceship nearby. I really wish this wasn’t raid-exclusive, or if we could receive an environment like it for exploration.

Honestly I’m very torn on this raid aesthetically it has no rival tbh and I love that they are finally doing what other MMOs have done which is a raid that has a story or is a series of events and not just enter dungeon to kill big boss this raid reminds me of the FF14 raids where there’s a sort of mission sequence occurring, at the same time I really feel like they missed out on the encounters the bosses still suffer from destiny’s issue of the boss just being the same enemy but to damage it do a puzzle that boils down to looking at which text popped up and moving to a certain spot I really wish they had fleshed out the fights making new enemy models and unique animations, Taniks is a new model but he pretty much just floats and shoots with the occasional unique attack I really hope that one day destiny makes a raid of this scale with bosses that feel like a challenge without relying on unnecessary puzzle requirements cause aesthetically and narratively they broke the ceiling with this one

Deep Stone Crypt is now my favorite destiny two raid. The lore, the environment, the encounter design, and the blood, sweat, and tears me n the boys shed in the 13 hours it took to beat it. The music in this area makes you feel the importance of this raid. It also makes you realize how small you are yet how much you can change the the reality inside the game. The eye candy of the scenery is just there to add a cherry on top of everything. I thought VOG was my favorite raid, now I reconsider that choice strongly.

Watching this section in the race for the first raid clear made my jaw drop. It gave me goosebumps. And it made me realize that Destiny is more than just the gameplay. The astonishing atmosphere of this game is remarkable. To have such a serene moment in a chaotic race for the world's first, or just the raid itself is art in itself. I did this raid for the first time last night. It was also my first raid. Thankfully I found a person that was looking for inexperienced players because he wanted to teach us how to do it. He didn't hold our hands as he wanted us to try and learn things ourselves, but would offer guidance when we got stuck.. After several wipes.. 5.. Maybe 7 hours later and we were through. Learning the mechanics amidst the chaos was a challange and the nuclear room gave us a fit. I didn't know what to do as the operator and would shoot the consoles too soon, but once we all understood the mechanics and got organized everything went great! Hopefully I can run this again as I had a great time!

I found an lfg group on a discord server i joined recently. Deep Stone Crypt was our second raid together, and it was the raid that solidified our friendship. After suffering to Athrax for about 3 hours, almost losing our mind in the process, our sherpa was incredibly patient and he plays with us regularly. After we beat Athrax and were running through, we came to the door and our sherpa said "Okay, turn down your sfx and turn up your dialogue and music and shut up" And so we did. That was for many of us, the best experience we had in destiny as a whole. Suffering for hours through an encounter, and being rewarded with these moments with friends. Even now as im struggling to download witch queen, they arent playing it, but instead waiting for me to finish it so we can play together

Reasons why the spacewalk is the best sequence in a destiny raid: •you are in space for the first time ever, meaning all noises besides whatever message is being relayed via your ghost is muted and suppressed immensely •the space walk reveals to us the true nature of what Clovis bray I was like, egomaniacal, judgmental, and possibly megalomaniacal •the two hidden tapes in this section reveal what happened to Elisabeth-1 •*the music* •a hidden chest that can drop you a raid mod like Herd Thinner

I remember the first time I listened to the Beyond Light Soundtrack and came across that song. "Deep Stone Lullaby" is one of the most beautiful and unique songs Bungie have added to this franchise.
