Gonna be honest, I’ve wanted to do another Slander video for a few months now. But between community morale, the layoffs and me not wanting to make one towards Warframe, I just haven’t made any. Decided with Revenant coming out tomorrow it would be worth seeing if I should get back to making these.

Echoes should have definitely focused on the vex individualizing and diversifying. We could have got the first scene of a vex actually having dialogue. Imagine hearing a vex say "I AM" but instead that insane revelation of indepenedent vex was the B PLOT? Anyway time to play destiny bloodborne much cooler vibes.

That’s not the problem, their relationship and Saint’s identity crisis would’ve felt good if the main bad guy felt menacing. Maya did jack while Saint is over here freaking the crap out. She didn’t FEEL threatening, she felt typical.

@@yasininn76 Osiris is also someone who was exiled from the last city for a long time due to his dangerous obsession with the Vex. That doesn’t seem like the romantic type. The Osiris we know now isn’t the same man we met in Curse of Osiris. He used to be something of a legend back in the early Destiny days. Now he’s just the gay grandpa.

I know echoes wasn't that good story wise from the begining but I must ask, wtf bungie how is Maya supossed to be a threath when all she did to stop us was using some weakass mind crontrol and get fucking punked by one shield throw and a nova bomb. Not even low level bosses from minor encounters get owned that hard by two abilities and now you tell me she just gets turned into vex soup and dips? AND NOBODY TRIES TO STOP HER FROM ESCAPING?!

Genuinely, every other piece of content has had a revelation or something of significance happened, literally more shit of importance happened in lightfall, THAT WAS A CUTSCENE, that was it But Echoes was just 'Maya kills her wife over and over, Saint has an existential crisis and immediately gets therapy, and Maya fucks off. The only thing that got fixed was saint, who wasn't broken before the season, and isn't broken after. Literally nothing happened. Maya just up and left, that was the plot.

Hot take: Bungie should've layed off that god damn awful narrative department over customer support, music and other core components. Destiny 2 has never had a good story and never will. Stop with the soap operas of dead families or failing relationships and stick to making playable content / gameplay. Keep the lore department for people who still care about knowing what's going on ofc, they still cooking as usual.

Honest question to everyone including you Forcer With the current state of Bungie, and please keep in mind that teh whole horrendous disaster that Echoes story was before the layoffs happened, what are the bets that it will happen the exact same thing? (Context: Act 1 Amazing/Great, Act 2: Mid/ok, Act 3: Bad/Hideous)

I actually thought all 3 Acts were bad (Act 1 being ok, 2-3 being horrendous). I think between this being the Second Episode, not launching beside an expansion, and not being vex focus that it will at least be better. I’m expecting at least Witch story quality, which was alright in my opinion.

There was cool stuff, but it was outweighed by so many things, especially the exotic mission being mandatory for the story.....multiple times. I should not have to wait until my friend gets to the same point in the quest just to progress the story because of the difficulty of the mission. At least Revenant looks cool.

I consider myself an ally, but all these gay robots detracted from what could have been a really interesting story. There was far too much romance in this episode, when we should have spent more time learning about the Vex. This would have been the perfect opportunity to give us a Vex antagonist that's independent from their collective consciousness, and maybe, I don't know, have them speak to us? When's the last time we heard a Vex speak? For that matter, when's the last time we've had an interesting Vex antagonist? Have we EVER had an interesting one?

They might craft the weapons and do whatever to avoid the FOMO because of the sunk cost fallacy, but then they will probably head right back to whatever game they were playing, whether it's Warframe, TFD, or something else and be having a lot more fun.

Honestly, while I love the romance aspect of the story, it would've worked a lot better if the threat wasn't the destruction of the entire timeline, and instead focussed more on the relationships themselves.
