The fallen were detected as "Intruders" hence the alert of and unregistered exo and an unknown life form. Also obvious story telling purposes. So using Hive magic, she revives this creature as an ascendant Hive. When we reach the end, a hive portal opens, and out steps a strange sight. An Eliksni? One covered heat to toe in hive chitin, eyes ablaze with green fire. A health bar appears at the bottom of the screen Taniks, the Ascendant. I want something like that

I always thought the description of the Cloak of Taniks was a metaphor. It talks about a Kell cutting off someones arms, that person building new ones, the killing the Kell with them. See the metaphor I was thinking of was that the Kell was Taniks, and he cut off his arms to make machine ones (like a madman), and in doing so becoming more machine then Fallen, and thus "killing" the Kell.

I can't remember, haven't played the strike in a long time, but I think he laughs when you kill him in the strike as well. Would make sense, as that is the only mission/strike in D1 where enemy's spawn in, or just exist, after killing the boss (barring a few potential glitched enemy's such as in the final house of wolves mission) implying the bastard isn't actually dead yet. Which he sort of was, just Siva revived him.

Actually Eramis IS still alive, in the last fight with her we damaged her "upgraded arm" which you can see glowing and sparking when we almost kill her and she drops to her knees, she then tried to use Stasis on us but it backfired and caused her to freeze herself. It's the same arm that she covers in stasis and shatters in the cutscene of her, atraks and kridis

Honestly, I think it would be awesome if they brought Taniks back one last time at the very end of destiny 2 in it's entirety as the strongest boss in the history of the series (maybe even putting Oryx to shame), wielding all the darkness subclasses in harmony, and ending in a final cut scene where he puts aside his differences with the guardians and accepts his final death. In my opinion, Taniks has always been the guardian's greatest enemy

Well Randell isn't that strong in terms of attack he just has more health than any other vandal in the game. Taniks is terrifyingly strong but has your typical raid/strike boss health. Lore wise taniks is a known guardian killer and has the skills to prove it...Randall however has no "canon" lore but his fan lore makes him the most powerful entity in the universe. My money is on Randall. ;)

Since this season is set mostly in the Tangled Shore and the Dreaming City and the scorn haven't been the main antagonists since season 4, I found it really weird that there are no scorn wrathborn hunts. The only reason I can think they didn't include them was that they weren't sure how to handle that much contact between Crow and the scorn from a story perspective.

Fun fact after your fireteam kills Taniks in dsc his heavy shank part can still kill you. If you die to the fire Taniks laughs, could be an oversight from bungies side or it could show that Taniks is undying.
