@@Benjiizus I heard there's been an update and you can get Whisper quest from the gambit vendor... maybe now that I did the quests after the switch to Steam, I will be able to get it? Dunno... if just opening the portal to the quest was more consistent, I'd ask for help on Discord servers for Destiny 2 (people constantly ask for help on heroic quest for the... catalyst)... but then we have days like those ten hours ago and when I get help, the bloody portal doesn't open. Yeah, I'd expect with anyone to help I'd have it done. I did one try to figure out the jumps (actually did way better than many months ago when I tried before, then I just kept missing the jumps and I think when I finally found the mob rooms, I found out I'm way undergeared.. because the quest scales to current max light level), and on the second I went almost perfectly through the jumps.. but yeah, I died.. a lot.

Love how they brought back D1 bosses like Driviks, Urzok and Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defences, take this beast out, and break their grip of Freehold.

Idk how warlocks are having a hard time. Use strafe glide and you can skip almost every part of the jumping sections. The hard part is the final room with all the knights spamming the blinding darkness blast

The first part about Urzok in the public event is incorrect, you're guaranteed a boss spawn but 1 of the 3 bosses from the end of the mission will spawn around The Lost Oasis in different locations. Urzok is the most visible at the cliffside, but one can also spawn in the rock canyon west of Urzok, and another in a canyon at the southern end of the map (by the Injection Rig PE)

Stuff like this is what I've always wanted Destiny to be/return to: a mid and end-game filled with missions where its not as large scale or as difficult as a raid but are still hard enough to require a little bit of pre-planning, comms, skill and a smudge of luck. Like you said in the video it gives me VOG vibes and I'm so happy to feel those feels again. Frankly, this mission, from what's around at the moment is the only thing other than nightfalls that isn't ridiculously complicated/difficult like the raid and the lairs and not super casual and unrewarding like the regular game and crucible. Nice to see something in D2 finally give us a FUN challenge.

Yakin the Noodest Take into account that the Black Spindle from D1 would be kinda pointless since lunafaction+rift is just a better version of what the weapon offered, even the offensive barricade would make DARCI better than this. IMO this was the only way they could have brought it back if you ask me, being an opponent to the other 2 exotic snipers and the legendary Ikelos sniper. Of course, I also believe that it will stay in the heavy slot like Acrius once Forsaken drops, due to the potential of infinite ammo and a great punch.

The Law it might be in the game, there is a portal in this mission where you can see the VoG raid from d1 and if you stand in the plate with the portal it closes, but it will spawn oracles depending on how many Hidden Chests you find, people are trying to solve it but it might be the 7th chest

Just a heads up, it doesn't have to be that exact public event. As long as the public event is in the Lost Oasis, you can kill the boss. He spawns in one of 3 different areas. Just got my Whisper of the Worm over the weekend. Good luck.

Just got it myself and if my testing was consistent and good enough the damage of this rifle in 1 shot is almost double the damage of the ikelos which btw (if im right) is the same as darci, and this is without the masterwork if its like box breathing is a 50% damage buff so ya the damage on this rifle is beyond god like. There is a knight, a captain and a centurion when the event starts. It can be 1 of 3 spawn locations to get the portal. It's not just the one guy.

Quick note there's a quick 2 to 3 minute time save in the big open room were you scale the mossy walls. As soon as you enter the room look to your right and there's a lamp. If you go behind the lamp into the corner there's a shortcut that skips that entire room.

This quest actually isn't really hard. The only really annoying thing about it is waiting for the Taken Blights. I was able to get the jumping puzzle down to about 4 minutes and made it to the boss room with my fireteam at around 13:30 minutes left. I wouldn't use Sleeper. We had a Titan with Polaris Lance and a linear fusion rifle. An Arcstrider with Polaris Lance and EP shotgun (void) and an Arcstrider with the Ikelos SMG and Tractor Cannon. We completed with 2 minutes left, although we took our time, probably could have completed with around 5 or 6 minute left.

@Datto; there's a shortcut after the portal section. Once in that room; you go to the rocks near the entrance you came in from. There is a hole in the shadows you can take which will cut out the rest of the jumping parts and take you to the ledge leading to the door that leads to the Taken enemies!

So, this is now the best weapon in the game for stationary boss damage, raids specifically. Great. With all of my friends gone, clans being dead, and LFG being a 50/50 shot of finding someone who's even played the game before, I don't think I'll ever get this done. I like how they actually give us a mission that feels like an exotic quest, something to really hunt for, but as a result of nothing else in the game being this hard or rewarding this well, this is now the best gun in the game for raiders and boss killers, period. Imagine the damage of six high impact sniper rifles with essentially infinite ammo, all benefiting from the masterwork perk. Every final boss in the raids will go down like you're slicing through butter with a hot knife. As much as I loved the Black Hammer's reign of terror in Destiny 1, I was ultimately glad it was nerfed. Now, they're bringing it back and it's better than ever, and only the best players with teams are going to be able to get it. I know that's a good thing, but it's not when nothing else in the game compares to it. Keep doing things like this with a bit more variety, and this can become one hell of a game again.

@Shirley Timple He has a point though, the best players will get it with their friends or the first few no lifers that get to max light, then only do raids with people that have the weapon or max light, and max light will be a nigh impossible to achieve without doing a raid. There are ways to break the cycle but that will likely require as many hours on an lfg that it should take to beat the raid.

The trigger for more bosses is not the blights but Boss damage and is recommended to take the three blights if possible Left Middle and right because they block a big part of the enemy walking path, Killing the fallen captain should be top priority while staying on the back room on a safe ledge while you shoot them my recommendation for load out is EP sniper, Polaris lance and hand cannon

11:55 Warlocks can make that jump! What I do is switch to balanced guide and activity heat rises on top tree dawn, which gives me a slight boost. Or if you're middle tree, hold down your nade button but don't release, this gives you a small boost to your jump as well.

You can save around 30 second doing the first Xol speach area by going right. You can jump and mantle the ledges and run to that last one. Warlocks also take the large jumping puzzle room well with the full outside route. Also a little ledge covered in vines lets you checkpoint if you fall off.

The level is fuckin bullshit. Its not good or challenging, it's bad level design. Destiny 2 is NOT a platformer. The devs shouldn't try include a secret platformer level and then give you half a fuckin foot to stand on and no instruction or indication on where to go. Its dumb, it's bad, its bs, its poorly designed, and it doesn't work with the game model

I just KNEW that if Black Spindle were to return, Bungie would restore the White Nail perk to its original state. There was simply no other way it could keep up with DARCI otherwise. However, what I did NOT expect is that the catalyst would give this gun "Box Breathing". Wtf? Bungie always react in extreme ways. When people call for nerfs, they nerf stuff into oblivion. When people whine that exotics are weak, they buff them the hell up. And when people complained that Destiny is no longer a "power fantasy", they introduced those new subclasses AND this gun, which is even superior to the original Black Hammer. Damn, imagine what would happen if they reintroduced Gally. If our darling were to return, its catalyst would probably restore its power to Destiny Y1 levels...

Btw with the taken knight, instead of him, there may be a taken captain, or a taken centurion, it can be any of those 3, besides the knight the other two are in caverns. Captain near the cliff, centurion will be under the middle area I believe. Just wanted to let you know of that

Correction, the caverns are closer to small tunnels captain again near the cliff centurion I believe will be underneath the big tree in the middle of the map or somewhere near there. I personally got the captain only, though I did have someone else in my party get at least 2 of them, including the centurion.

There is also a secret in the open room section of the quest. This involves killing oracles based upon the ones originally found in the vault of glass (This probably sounds confusing but its somewhere on Reddit) If you kill the oracles in the right pattern it will allow you to unlock a schematic for a ship, similar to the one you would get from Kings Fall in D1.

Quick tip:the taken enemy that ur supposed to kill during the taken blight public event isn’t always a Knight, it’s either gonna be a taken knight,a taken centurion,or a taken keel(fallen)

If Urzok doesn't spawn, check the cave/tunnel on the far side near the tree. A taken centurion can spawn there and that's what you'll need to kill to get the portal to spawn. Found this on accident. Hope it helps!

If I remember correctly Ir Anuk and Ir Halak used each other as their oversouls so that if one died the other could bring her back. When we killed them both it killed them for good.
