Ninja explained @16:45 exactly what made Destiny amazing. They should have kept legendary gear hard to get and exotics extremely rare.

I just want them to add a mega rare tier above exotics. But yeah rarity is essentially meaningless in the modern game and it’s sad

I've been living in Warframe for the past two months and tbh, the grind in that game for loot and gear sends me back to D1 days. It's excruciating but so rewarding when you're done. I was missing that feeling through D2 for a long time, ngl.
@vdarkwraithАй бұрын
i miss the feeling of getting a new exotic and going to test it out in the cosmodrome
@ThatFalloutGodАй бұрын
Destiny's never going to get back that feeling because they went completely away from the fantasy side of the inspiration and we've been playing the game for a decade. Once people have played a game for so long, the magic of the beginning is lost forever, so stop trying to get back what you never can. And, for the umpteenth time, we get the gear to play the game, we don't play the game to get the gear. I have infinitely more fun using the things I wanna play with than mindlessly grinding for an RNG drop to not bend me over.

Destiny. What is there to say. I have loved this game for 10 years since I was 14, I played through highschool, now I still play in my adult life. From Dinklebot, to some wizards coming from the moon, getting that first exotic. To losing everything in the red War, losing a friend with Cayde, forgiving and accepting new ones. These games will always have a special place in my heart next to Halo, bungie raised me, I hope for a bright future. And so, Eyes up guardian, Destiny Awaits.

I started playing late on Lightfall. Destiny throughout the years always stuck in the back on my head, friends and coworkers always told me to play. Since every FPS game in the industry is shit, the only game That was left to try was Destiny. As a new player is rough but once you pass that first phase, the grind and getting them exotics trust you gonna be hooked. Destiny is like that high school sweetheart that when things go rough out there and nobody likes you, you could always come back to her and play.

I’m enjoying final shape but Destiny’s vibe and atmosphere peaked with Destiny 1. The final shape feels so different as a universe when compared to what was set up in D1. Less grand in scale, a lot less interesting of a universe and more of a shallow soap opera with mediocre characters. The music isn’t as inspired as it was in D1, the worlds and locations aren’t as interesting… Maybe I’m just getting old or maybe destiny truly did change but I miss the way Destiny used to be.. before Destiny 2 sort of “soft rebooted” the tone and look and then Beyond Light changed things further

IT DROPPED LETS GOOOO Edit: So I didn't have the time to watch it the day this dropped but I just finished watching it all now. I honestly didn't realise just how up and down D1 was in its lifetime. I knew it had a bit of a rocky start, but what I didn't realise was just how much of a ride it was. I unfortunately didn't get to play much of it as I was playing back on the Xbox 360 and back then the only only expansion you could buy for the platform was The Taken King, and (apparently, form what I had heard at the time) the 360 had Exotic weapon drops and Xur disabled from showing up. Dunno if that's true but I do remember never once ever getting or ever seeing an Exotic, and I never once saw Xur even though I went looking. As for D2, I started playing during Curse of Osiris and I felt so lost and confused that I quit the game I had fallen in love with until I finally decided to give it another shot a few years later, right before the DCV hit. I played at the tail end of Beyond Light and just about managed to squeeze in the Forsaken campaign, which made me fall in love with the game all over again. I was playing pretty steadily after that, playing in almost all of my free time outside of school, college and work. But I was always solo and missing out on the community and meeting a lot of people as I didn't ever get around to raiding. But then I found the app, and the Fireteam Finder there. I remember my first ever raid was Vault of Glass. It took us 8 hours as the guy sherpa-ing us through was the only one of us 6 that had ever done the raid before, and I hadn't even ever looked it up so I was daisy fresh going in XD I remember that we got to the Atheon section and someone cracked a joke that kept us laughing for a good 10 or 15 minutes. Overall the raid took us 8 hours but that was one of my most memorable times in the game. Fast forward a year or so later and I've cracked almost all the raids and dungeons, and I eventually find this one group that I join in a Root of Nightmares raid. Best group of people I'd met in the game. We were all from all over the place and many different clans I joined on the second encounter. We all vibed so well that we each left our clans and formed one of just us 6, eventually expanding it to over 10 other people. Unfortunately one day they all just stopped playing, but I still play with 3 people I've met in that time, even going so far as to Trio RoN, my only low-man clear (I will happily share my raid report for that XD). But... since The Final Shape and clearing all that content, I've just felt so apathetic towards Destiny. The layoffs and sub-par content of Episode 1 (sat least in my opinion) just... it doesn't have the same draw anymore. I hop on occasionally, but my time is now mostly spent on Warframe and The First Descendant. But Destiny is always going to hold a special place in my heart because of the amount of time I've spent with the game, and how much it shaped my childhood and teen years growing up. Eyes up Guardians. Tl;dr - started late in D1 on the 360, fell in love with the game. Came to D2 in CoO, got confused and quit until Beyond Light. Played regularly after that until Final Shape, having met a ton of people along the way and made a fuck-ton of memories. Now I play Warframe and The First Descendant because Episode 1 bores me.

a lot of people played to unlock loot and hang out with friends. But something I used to do was just walk around the maps and look for secrets and kill enemies while pretending to be some kind of mercenary etc. In D1 the simplicity of the game as well as the secret encounters etc. on most maps made me fall in love. I had all these ideas of what the witness was and where we could go in the solar system. Raids while difficult felt special and made me feel powerful while also being a member of a society of guardians., not the chosen one (although its already implied you kind of are) The beginning of D2 felt similar. Although the red war was definitely a divider among fans, because I loved the cabal and didn't know much about them I thought it was awesome. Yes curse of Osiris and war mind were also controversial but war mind with its secret scavenger hunt that led to finding an irl javelin buried in a park was also amazing and drew me back in. I wondered what other secrets like that had been missed. But the longer I played and the greedier bungie became the less I started to care and the more I realized it probably was the last easter egg of its kind. Shadow keep with its intense focus on season pass and a beginning to the end of mysterious lore really killed those old intriguing vibes. Thats really where my experience died.

Excellent video, I just wish it wasn't so long so I could recommend it to friends (even the ones that don't play D2) but I know it can't be helped, is a 10 year resume after all! (TBH I watched it all in 2 times speed, in multiples sessions)

I would love it if High Boi and a destiny creator did a collab and HB would make a destiny lore video in his style. It’d be so funny.

This just makes me….so fucking sad man, I wanna go back, I want to play destiny again. I can’t even help but kinda cry cuz what we’ve lost is so gut wrenching Also neat thing about sepiks prime’s soundtrack was recorded by a guitarist named misha mansoor, from the pretty big metal band periphery in which a couple members loved destiny
