To be fair the ghost respawning players was a neat way to incorporate respawns into the actual story. Obviously in a game respawns are restricted sometimes so eh. I’m sure if anyone cared about the lore it’d make more sense too😂

I like how something like this probably happened in Destiny's lore somewhere. It's actually canon that Guardians have a tendency for doing stupid shit like falling to their deaths from their main headquarters or breakdancing in the middle of a firefight. I remember recently reading this one tab where a Warlock missed a jump in the Ascendant Plane and slowly floated to her death in the abyss below, seeming more annoyed than anything about her impending, if temporary, demise.

When your player enters a darkness zone area and it says on screen "Respawning Restricted" when your doing a mission on your own, if you get killed by an enemy in the game that's when it will say 3, 2, 1, 0 "Your Light Fades Away" And "Restarting From Last Checkpoint".

That's usually the case. But, we have a unique one, one that defies explanation: Shin Malphur. He never died to get his own Ghost. So, if you do happen to get a Ghost while you're alive you keep all your memories. Otherwise, memory wiped.
