Even more than Fikrul, when we remember that the Machinist was also brought back to life post-campaign (heroic public event on the former Tangled Shore), I really wonder if we won't see the Mindbender returning? If Scorn can be revived freely, and the Mindbender tried experimenting with the worms and Dark Ether first, it seems like a great chance to capitalize on some of that unused potential for one of the most interesting Scorn Barons.
@axelkusanagi41392 жыл бұрын
Didn't we kill the Mindbender in his own throne world though? Until we figure out how Oryx comes back, we won't see the Mindbender again. Still, I can't remember where I heard it, but I think someone predicted Scorn with worms and brimming with taken energy as the forces of Darkness consolidated their forces.
@maxdagesse1272 жыл бұрын
@@axelkusanagi4139 We did kill the Mindbender in his throne world, but the Scorn are also capable of being resurrected through Dark Ether. That's an entirely separate thing from the throne world immortality, and it seems feasible that if they could find a body, they could rez him like any other Scorn. The main reason killing off the Barons worked out the first time was because it completely beheaded the Scorn's leadership, and as long as we kept putting down the few who apparently had other plans in place to come back (i.e. the Machinist, who seemed to have a dedicated team in place performing Ether rituals to try to bring her back, and the Fanatic, who I believe generates Dark Ether on his own since he was the first Scorn; leaving his body alone for long enough seems to have been enough to rez him), we could keep the leadership down and stop anyone from being able to put together a more solid plan to bring back the rest of the Barons. But now, the Scorn are getting smarter and have new leadership besides; the chopping off of the head of the leadership simply won't work. There's nothing stopping them from formulating a plan to recover and rez the other Barons now, and all of them are feasibly on the table again.

That'd certainly be a mindbending revelation 😃😃

We collapsed his throne world and killed him in it. If they ressurected him, the sword would tithe double from him what murdered him. They would have to bring equivalent death of 2 ‘traveler’s chosen’ god slayers to do it. And considering after killing Rhulk, you would need to approach sacrificing a candidate for the final shape just to return the mindbender from the deep.

Here's a theory. If the fanatic hasn't joined the Witness yet, there might be a chance for us to divide the scorn to our side. The fanatic has only ever acknowledge one being above him and that was Uldren Sov (his father). What if during a season, the Crow with his past memories finds Ficrul the Fanatic and persuades him to join us?
@echoaquarius87222 жыл бұрын
Perhaps Crow becomes a member of the so called "dark vanguard" as a liason to Fikrul's scorn, because in that scenario, the Vanguard would never accept the Scorn.
@casartherandom30102 жыл бұрын
Or perhaps that Uldren is the only one who can actually kill Fikrul permanently?
@echoaquarius87222 жыл бұрын
@@casartherandom3010 I think he could definitely be the one to do so, but I don't think he is the only one. Fikrul's reanimation isn't only fueled by dark ether, or all scorn could do it on their own. Rivens wish magic from uldrens inadvertent wish causes the dark ether to funnel back into fikrul and reanimate him. Theoretically all it would take to permanently kill Fikrul is to somehow funnel all of the dark ether out of his entire being, just like killing a guardian by stealing their light (including his staff, which is his conduit for it, like our ghost for the light).

I think the pattern is just a universal signal resonance visual effect, nothing more to it really. Darkness holds a golden orange glow, Black Armory held a variety of colors like red and blue for their resonance effects. Though, BA was opposed to implementing Light due to the belief it was making Humanity weak for their dependence on the Traveler, and we know they had access to some level of Braytech since Clovis was the only one who could make Exos and Exos are made with Darkness-rendered Vex mindfluid, so it could be possible there is some Darkness in the Black Armory tech to some miniscule degree.

The Black Armory was opposed to the Light as a tool for us. They believed that Humanity had become soft under the care of the Traveler, and so the founders decided to build weapons and technology to help protect Humanity from any outside threats whilst not being dependant on the big golf ball in the Sky. If anything, I assumed that BA tech implemented some elements of Braytech due to the founders putting Ada into an exobody, and knowing that only Clovis had the tech to make exos and that involves Darkness and Vex mindfluid hints at no Light involved. If anything, back when the Forges were around, I thought they had implemented some level of Vex technology due to the sounds they'd emit being vaguely akin to Vex noises in their echoey blooping and whining.

The tree animation shows a dark silhouette of a tree sprouting forth then it turns white. Mara’s explanation of what it is to be Awoken gives the same image along with the two bird story of her and uldren.For as far light reaches , darkness comes to meet it. Death(the darkness) is trying to bring root to create something , a capability that was given to the light. Death isn’t a rebirth, resurrection is a remnant, the light gives a second chance. Something the darkness never offers without a sacrifice being made.

HOWEVER - your bringing it up in this context made me realize that, _to a certain extent_, Black Armory tech, and more specifically, the curious shimmery "radiance" it features, bears a _vague_ resemblance to similar visuals on artifacts of the Black Fleet. i thought the encased creatures in ice were infact the krill. in the preservation mission inside one of the buildings, rhulk talks about the krill and fundament and they are inside that room too. they also have a crustacean type look to them.

This scorn stuff reminded me: the Seasons system Destiny has now actually allows the big expansions to focus entirely on the Darkness Races (scorn, taken, maybe a new enemy eventually) without us getting too tired of them. We can still have Vex, Fallen, and Cabal stories in the intermediary. I think we'll get some sort of Season of the Disciples or something featuring setups for maybe Calus, Eramis, Fikrul, and possibly others such as Toland. (Hell, the last main expansion featuring the Vex was *Curse of Osiris,* and the last yearly expansion version of content for the vex was BASE DESTINY. Not counting the Shadowkeep raid)

Fikrul 100% I think works for the Witness now. His philosophy about changing the Eliksni into the Scorn, talking about evolution has a lot of parallels to the Darkness philosophies like the sword logic / pure survival of the fittest

I do hope that in Lightfall we will get to see who will be the major enemies are. Also, I actually want to see Fikrul appear as a successful result of this experiment. I like scorns the most among all the enemy factions because they have a lot of potential. Like, the Taken are cool but I like how the Scorn feels closer to what the guardians are. An undying army, especially Fikrul.

The Dark Army consists of Xivu Arath's Hive, most if not all of the Scorn, maybe the remnants of House Salvation, Calus' Cabal and the Veil or whatever they end up being called. The Light Army has Humanity (Exos and Awoken included, obviously), hopefully the other Houses of Eliksni and House Light, Caiatl's Cabal, and POTENTIALLY, we could form an alliance with Savathun, temporarily of course. I think bringing her back to team up with her would be a brilliant bit of story, and it wouldn't be out of character to join us in order to protect the Traveller which is all she really wants. The Vex will probably stay neutral with the exception of the Sol Divisive. I can't wait to see where all of this goes.

It’s also obviously worth stating that during the opening encounter the abomination you kill are deemed “knowledge bearers” so the caretaker could be involved with that or them.

Trying to think about this from an alchemic stand point. The Darkness is all about Winnowing, breaking something down to its truest essence. Distillation, purification. This is what the Taken are: distilling an individual to its most fundamental nature. With the Scorn and Worms, the Witness is synthesizing, bringing two unlike things together and getting something more. Creatures that resurrect bonded to creatures with paracausal power. Is it trying to breed a warrior class to counter the Guardians?

Fikrul has gotta become a Disciple surely!? Would make sense as to why we see Fanatics Chosen Scorn & why they're so aggressively trying to take the pyramid ship!

Late to the party on this video but... When you mentioned that other than Black Armory all references to "resonance" were of the darkness. I would actually say there a strong possibility the Black Armory ones are too. We know that Clovis Bray was messing with Darkness and had some influence on the Black Armory staff, including giving exo-tech which lead to Ada. Plus this season has a re-coloured black armory transmat effect which is VERY similar to some of the particle effects that come off of The Caretaker. Some of the particle effects in the 2 transmat effects also look similar to dark ether effects. There's a good chance Black Armoury resonance is the same resonance too.

In regards to the worms being fed to the scorn. The “worm being fed fed to the scorn” is an assumption, it is just as likely that it is in the process of rejecting the host, which makes it more likely the reason they were put in stasis. Especially if you can see the head of the worm, implying outward transit as opposed to inward.

So, question. Are we sure the Black Armory doesn't have anything to do with the Pyramids? There origins are a little obscure, theirs holes in our records of their early days. I'm less confident by the day they weren't always Dark implements, which wouldn't be that worrisome if Ada wasn't feeling at loose ends. She feels like the weak point in the Tower, if the Witness wants to subvert someone.
